District Asset Protection Manager (DAPM)
Leads Asset Protection programs and training for assigned district(s) in accordance with approved Company policies and procedures, in order to drive sales, profit, and a customer service culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
Team Development
- Communicates shrinkage awareness and shrinkage reduction strategies to Store and Asset Protection teams and follows up to ensure stores are executing strategies and following Asset Protection Directives.
- Manages performance by frequently conducting talent and succession planning, holding coaching and developmental conversations with direct reports and maintains notes / observations of strengths and opportunities and consistently coaches teams to improve performance and meet goals.
- Develops engagement strategy to include retention, recognition, and teamwork. Conducts business reviews with RAPD and Asset Protection Managers.
- Provides insight for determining staffing levels based on knowledge of store and district. Plans, interviews and hires Asset Protection talent. Conducts regular store visits to observe, coach, train and assess talent, performance and metrics. Manages district budget and expenses.
- Reviews Asset Protection Training reports to ensure training is completed for each Asset Protection associate and approves AP Certifications prior to associates conducting apprehensions.
- Coaches the Asset Protection team in conducting surveillance, detaining, and interviewing suspects, and responding to incidents in a professional manner in accordance with established policy and procedure.
Shrink
- Oversees Asset Protection Programs by providing leadership and guidance to AP teams and General Managers on methods to successfully execute programs in stores.
- Reviews operational execution of the shrink program and physical security standards, Beauty & Fine Jewelry operations, operational processes that impact shrink, and compliance of company policies.
- Reviews Asset Protection metrics for unfavorable trends and ensures appropriate actions are in place to prevent losses by assessing inâstore actions and results to ensure there are high degrees of execution and compliance.
- Reviews Shrink Action Plans to ensure plans are impactful, actionable, and executable, and assesses plans during store visits to measure execution and provide guidance to store teams.
- Coaches associates and advises Store/District Leadership when opportunities are identified.
- Participates in annual inventory processes.
- Conducts and oversees results for Shrink Process Review (SPR) and District AP Visits
Investigations
- Ensures timely investigation of all issues of safeness, theft and fraud impacting stores, customers, and associates.
- Oversees and at times conducts internal investigations; reviews and approves all internal case reports.
- Develops and maintains relationship with local law enforcement and community partners.
- Reviews case files, reports of external apprehensions, internal investigations, incident reports, PCI, PII and Sales Audit documentation to ensure that stores are maintaining records in accordance with Company policies.
Safety
- Reviews operational execution of the safety program and physical security standards.
- Ensures safety programs, committee meetings and follow up actions are executed consistently, including Haz Waste standards.
- Key leader responding to critical incidents, providing communication cascade and support for remediation efforts.
