Without access to financial institutions, people are forced to keep their savings under the mattress. Small business owners rely on lenders who charge extortionate rates. Parents spend hours waiting in line to pay school fees in cash.

We're solving this by building financial services that just work: no account fees, instantly available, and accepted everywhere. In places where electricity, water and roads don't always work, you can still send money with Wave. In 2017, we launched a mobile app in Senegal for cash deposit, withdrawal, and peer-to-peer and business payments. Now, we have millions of users across six countries and are growing fast.

How you'll help us achieve it

Wave is now the largest financial institution in Senegal, with over 7 million users. And, we're still in the early days of our product roadmap and potential impact on people's everyday lives.

We are hiring Distribution Supervisors to lead distribution teams in allocated zones to increase the number of monthly active users of Wave Burkina. You will spread the word about Wave to the population and register new end users, helping us create a tremendous user growth machine. 

In this role, you'll; 

  • Be responsible for Wave user acquisition in a given area.
  • Manage a team of 15 to 30 distributors.
  • Work closely with the User Growth Regional Lead/Country Leads and execute the defined distribution strategy.  
  • Maintain the quality of our Distributor's team through great hiring, frequent performance monitoring, and coaching.
  • Grow our monthly active users by boosting the number of deposits and conversions generated by distributors while maintaining a stable sender retention rate.
  • Create strategies that help us target groups of individuals with a strong need for a product like Wave.
  • Monitor daily the Distributor's performance.
  • Assist the marketing team from time to time with implementing below-the-line marketing activities.
  • Review cycle targets with the lead and give feedback on any needed adjustment; when executing targets and any challenge/blocker arises, you are responsible for escalating that to upper management for help/guidance.
  • Fully owning the growth of a territory/area. 
  • Exemplify Wave values and lead by example.  

Key Details

  • Location: This is a field role. Based on business needs, you will be based in Ouagadougou or the upcountry and may travel to other field locations nationwide.
  • Work authorization in Burkina Faso is required.
  • This is a 6 months interim position, the successful candidate is going to be employed via an interim firm. 

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of medium to large distribution team management experience.
  • Proficiency in French is required. 
  • ​​Fluency in Mooré, Dioula, or any region's local language is mandatory.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Have basic knowledge of data analysis.
  • Reside in the region or locality where distribution will be done. 
  • Experience in Sales and Marketing will be an added advantage.
