Job Purpose
Distribution Manager manages and deploys the operational strategy, business processes, and systems for overall distribution operations, including order fulfilment, warehousing, inventory management, and transportation.

OPERATIONS
- Collaborate with Global and GeoZone Leadership in defining and implementing strategies to optimize investment, manage, and execute strategic choices to ensure that identification of primary source and lead time selection process are completed
- Utilizes data-driven analytical tools and systems to continuously monitor operations, identify inefficiencies, and develop optimization strategies
- Follow price lists/contracts where applicable and on new items to ensure that we obtain the best possible price, delivery, and quality. Price should be monitored & at least equal to, or less than, standard cost
- Work with QA to identify and develop new sources of supply
- Constantly review planning parameters (minimum order quantities, lead times, etc.) for items under your control
- Manage the follow up with vendors and manufacturing centers as required to ensure parts ordered arrive/are made on time and are available for assembly and/or shipment
- Oversee production/logistics support at the location
- Manage the inventory planning parameter/levels for items under the Distribution Centers control and maximize the inventory turns
- Assist engineering to develop project plans for customer orders and provide regular status reports to the team
- Identify opportunities to reduce cost and work with the Supply Chain to develop cost comparisons and negotiate contracts
- Use up excess inventory through material substitution when possible, in agreement with technical support
- Assess & provide business analysis and management reports
- Maintain the business KPI(s) for respective product lines
COMMUNICATION
- Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external
- Ensure interdepartmental communication for improved coordination of supply
- Meeting and collaborating with management to assess the reliability of suppliers and vendors, and to identify solutions for ongoing problems
- Contact vendors, place orders, verify supplies, manage supply requisition, and communicate with suppliers to determine expected delivery dates and inform internal clients of potential delays
- Work close with the Expeditor to secure proper execution of order deliveries
FINANCIAL
- All employees have an accountability to the organization to be financially responsible whether they are in charge of a functioning budget or simply their own expenses
- Costs incurred should be within the approved budget, processed within agreed time frames & following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Experience & Education
REQUIRED
- 8+ years of work experience in a distribution and / or order fulfillment center
- Knowledge or experience in:
- Manufacturing environment
- Planning
- Purchasing
- Proficient understanding of materials and services procurement
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel
- Conversant with manufacturing / supply systems, practices, and processes
- Understanding of computerized ERP systems. Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing operations
PREFERRED
- Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management
- Knowledge about Oil & Gas automation equipment
- APEX Certification
- Experience in sourcing and planning on related to Automation and/or electronic equipment
- Experience in project management
