EFE is hiring a Director of Client Marketing within our Workplace business, which provides managed account asset allocation solutions and financial advice within 401(k) plans to employees at the largest employers in the United States. This is a management role passionate about setting the retention strategy for EFE’s existing employer clients, the acquisition strategy for those employers who seek to offer managed account services as a benefit to their employees, and the engagement strategy for the investment consultants who advise both. This new hire will lead a small team of marketers and partner closely with EFE’s sales, relationship management, and consulting relations professionals to set strategy, implement initiatives, and measure results.
This is a “player-coach” role in which you will partner closely with the VP of Institutional Marketing, VP of Direct Sponsor Relationship Management, VP of Sales and Consultant Relations, and Senior Director of Advisor Partner Relationship Management to identify the strategies and tactics vital to achieve commercial objectives, and implement them independently and by leading a small team.
Job Requirements
- Set and implement the retention marketing strategy for existing employer clients, partnering with relationship management teams to find opportunities, build campaigns, and distribute messaging.
- Set and implement the acquisition marketing strategy for net-new employer clients, partnering with sales teams and product marketing to communicate and distribute EFE’s value proposition in market
- Partner with the sales organization to take a data-driven approach to identifying prospective clients, how we package and communicate our services to specific verticals, and how we measure success within our pipeline
- Create content that will be delivered in relationship management and sales channels, with a heavy emphasis on client-facing pitch decks and presentations
- Define EFE’s B2B marketing technology and demand generation agenda in accordance with the needs of our sales team and the prospecting strategy articulated above
- Develop and implement an account-based demand-generation and champion strategy to improve top of funnel lead generation for target clients.
- Lead the creation of custom presentations and proposals for large, strategic opportunities to win new business and retain existing clients
- Craft an engagement strategy for investment consultants, partnering with consulting engagement and institutional marketing teams to deliver fresh thought leadership that keeps EFE top of mind
- Partner with Product Marketing to develop sales materials for both net-new and existing clients that highlight the value of EFE’s managed account solution and evolve this critical retirement offering from a series of products to a comprehensive solution that individuals use along their retirement journey
- Lead a team of three professionals passionate about Sales Marketing, Sales Prospect Content, and Employer Retention, encouraging and mentoring them to grow into successful commercial marketers while setting goals, providing ongoing mentorship and development, and encouraging a collaborative work environment.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of relatable enterprise B2B marketing experience, preferably in financial services, with a demonstrated ability to build marketing strategies and campaigns within this field
- Tangible examples of past success attracting and retaining enterprise clients with long sales cycles
- Understand and support client needs; collaborate with colleagues who work with clients.
- Awareness of account-based marketing techniques and experience/ability to discern what works in an institutional/enterprise environment from a mid-market/SMB environment
- Data-driven approach, ensuring that accurate insights govern marketing strategies while integrating critical qualitative insights at every turn
- Consistent track record to partner with sales and relationship management teams, implementing their feedback and experience into your strategies
- Effective communication and relationship-building across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership
- Consistent track record collaborating and influencing across functional and organizational boundaries, and able to challenge the status quo
- Skilled at leading multiple, simultaneous projects efficiently and independently on deadline
- Experience leading a small team preferred
Edelman Financial Engines takes a market-based approach to pay. The expected base salary range for this role nationally is $120,000 - $160,000; However, final base pay will be carefully determined based on several factors, including responsibilities, job-related skills, relevant experience, geographic location, and market conditions. Additionally, this role may be eligible for other forms of compensation and benefits, such as a discretionary bonus, health, dental and other wellness plans, and 401(k) contributions.
