As the Director of Talent Management you are a visionary leader, who will lead the charge in revolutionizing our talent programs through cutting-edge AI-enabled learning and innovative practices. Your role will be pivotal in shaping a high-performing, growth-minded culture that offers employees the best experience of their careers. You will lead and inspire a team to create strategies that give Freshworks competitive advantage in the talent marketplace to attract, develop and retain the brightest in the industry. Your charter will be to create an Ai enabled learning environment in all key pillars that drives excellence and continuous learning, utilizing internal Freshworks capabilities in our product ecosystem. Key pillars will include re-imagining the design of programs across talent management, including performance enablement, employee listening, employee learning and growth, and strategic talent assessment and planning.  

Responsibilities:
Use data-driven insights and industry best practices to design, optimize and execute innovative talent management processes in the following areas:

  • Performance Enablement

    • Spearhead the design and implementation of performance enablement systems, processes, and tools to raise the bar on individual and organizational performance excellence.

    • Design programs and lead team to provide strategic guidance and support to managers and employees on setting OKRs (objectives and key results), providing feedback, and addressing performance issues

    • Analyze performance data to identify trends, strengths, and areas for improvement and develop actionable insights to enhance overall performance and development

  • Employee Listening

    • Lead the development of strategies to leverage new technology and innovative approaches to effectively measure, summarize, and enhance the Freshworks employee experience.

    • Design and implement innovative listening instruments to gather and analyze the employee experience, measure employee engagement, identify opportunities for improvement and generate predictive insights that drive action

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address employee concerns, improve the work environment, and promote a culture of high performance, recognition, inclusivity, and belonging where employees are empowered to do their best work

  • Learning made Easy

    • Modernize learning to the new generation of learners, incorporating multimedia, gamification, and interactive elements.

    • Develop bite-sized, on-demand learning modules that employees can access anytime, anywhere, to support continuous learning and skill development.

    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create engaging content that resonates with modern learners, leveraging technology and digital tools to enhance learning outcomes.

    • Develop and lead a team to execute a comprehensive and modern learning strategy that aligns to core global programs, focused on company objectives and employee growth needs with a lens on operationalizing and building rigor

    • Design and implement a seamless, integrated approach to employee development and career growth

    • Experience with e-learning and digital education platforms is especially important to provide a  seamless and intuitive learning experience, personalized to individual learning needs.

    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the organization, promoting self-directed learning and knowledge sharing among employees.

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives through data analytics and feedback mechanisms, continuously refining and improving the learning experience based on insights.

  • Talent Assessment and Planning

    • Implement innovative data-driven  talent assessment practices e.g., calibration, progression and succession planning, to identify emerging leaders, assess their capabilities, and advance their development for key roles that ensure continuity in critical functions within the organization. 

    • Design and drive a forward-thinking succession planning framework that identifies high-potential employees, assesses their readiness for leadership roles, and maps out tailored development plans to prepare them for future responsibilities.

    • Utilize data analytics and performance metrics to assess individual and team performance, streamline calibration, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive performance improvements.

    • Develop and facilitate leadership development programs, coaching, and mentoring initiatives to accelerate the growth and readiness of high-potential employees for future leadership roles.

    • Continuously evaluate and refine succession planning strategies based on feedback, insights, and evolving business needs to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization's leadership bench.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Organizational Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Proven experience in talent management, HR Leadership, or related roles
  • Strong understanding of talent management principles, practices, and trends
  • Familiarity with AI-driven educational methodology and tools, data analytics for measuring learning outcomes, and the ability to leverage AI to personalize learning experiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, facilitation and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data to drive insights and decision-making
  • Agile and curious leader with experience working in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment and a willingness to lead and be involved in all detailed aspects of  programs from conception to execution
  • Innovative Thinking: The ability to envision and implement new strategies is crucial. The candidate should have a proven track record of innovative thinking and be adept at forecasting future skills needs and learning trends.

The annual OTE salary range in San Mateo for this position is between: $195,690-$318,010 USD.
