Director, Talent Acquisition & Development

Under the hood, we build systems to manage sourcing of cars, inspection, photography, merchandising, reconditioning, financing, insurance, shipping and many more. The Talent Acquisition and Development Director is responsible for overseeing the entire recruitment process, identifying top talent, and ensuring their development to meet organizational needs. This role focuses on aligning talent strategies with the company's long-term goals by creating a seamless connection between recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee growth. The director ensures the company attracts, develops, and retains skilled employees, fostering a culture of continuous learning and engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Talent Acquisition Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive talent acquisition strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Oversee the full recruitment lifecycle, from job postings and interviews to onboarding.
  • Build a strong employer brand to attract high-quality candidates.
  • Manage relationships with recruitment agencies and external partners.
  • Lead the adoption of recruiting tools and technology (e.g., applicant tracking systems).

 

Talent Development:

  • Create and implement strategies for employee learning, leadership development, and career progression.
  • Develop and implement KPI’s, OKR’s for the talent acquisition team (monthly, quarterly, yearly) to track their performance.
  • Identify skills gaps and collaborate with department heads to design training programs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning through workshops, mentorship, and e-learning platforms.
  • Design and oversee leadership and management development programs.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of development programs and adjust as needed.

 

Workforce Planning:

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to forecast workforce needs and develop talent pipelines.
  • Ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce through targeted hiring and development practices.
  • Align workforce strategies with organizational goals, including succession planning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as CIPD- Level 5, SHRM-SCP, or SPHRi or equivalent.
  • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in talent acquisition, learning & development, or human resources roles.
  • Proven track record in leading talent acquisition and development initiatives.
  • Experience with succession planning, performance management, and leadership development.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and learning management systems (LMS).
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Experience in fostering diversity and inclusion within the workforce.
