What’s it all about?
Reporting to the Head of Strategy and Commercial Operations for VCA in Europe, the Director, VCA Strategy & Commercial Ops will proactively evolve the VCA Europe strategy to address new strategic issues and opportunities, build strong commercial capabilities to grow the VCA/VAS business, and drive revenue growth and diversification. Additional responsibilities include managing client engagement/s, key functional governance, and applying performance insights and subject matter expertise to deliver the strategy.
Responsibilities:
Lead and grow the Digital practice, one of VCA’s 9 strategic practice areas, including shaping the proposition, offerings, and go-to-market approach to drive forward the commercialization of the practice area as well as VCA Europe’s strategic objectives
Lead the development and active use of thought leadership that builds a strong reputation enabling VCA to drive VAS and help clients boost performance, including ownership and management of content on VCA Europe’s external website
Be assigned to key client projects, providing expert knowledge and skills to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction, especially related to Digital and Visa products/solutions
Lead the execution of Pan-European VCA Europe strategic projects that are of high strategic impact to business (e.g. inorganic growth initiative).
Drive content for key business development activities e.g. client pilots, workshops, exploration sessions, RFPs, Future of Payments strategic trends, client QBRs, etc
Lead the development of Multi-year Strategic Outlook (MSO) including setting up relevant Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) for tracking performance against the strategy and key outcomes put forward in MSO
Own content for the Quarterly Business Reviews (QBR) for all key stakeholders (ELT, Global VCA, Global VAS) as well as the creation of content for Monthly Business Reviews (MBR)
Develop relevant content for key functional governance e.g., functional leadership meetings, offsites, client councils and sales pipeline reviews
Actively participate in priority Global projects/initiatives. This includes executive newsletters, Global Thought Leadership as an SME, global practice areas involvement, and AMK/RMK content, etc
Promote a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency in driving governance simplification, enabling high quality decision making and aligning to wider corporate governance e.g., QBR
Identify opportunities to drive process improvement/efficiency across VCA Europe
Leverages regional business performance targets performance (i.e., scorecard) and KPIs projections to drive performance improvement whilst aligning with both wider Europe Hub and Global VAS
Works in partnership with the Corporate Strategy and Corporate Development teams to build strategic frameworks and content to influence, align with, and adapt VCA strategy and acquisition opportunities
Contributes to identification and capture of new Generative AI use cases in support of business growth and industry evolution
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
What we’re after…
Qualifications and Experience
• Educated to Bachelor's degree (Economics, analytics, business related fields)
• Substantial relevant experience in management consulting or similar role at Banks/Fis
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of banking operations and/ or payments, including products & services, business systems and processes
• Vast experience in building enduring, strategic relationships with internal and external clients and across the Visa organisation
• Experience working with financial indicators to measure business performance with a focus on impacting ROI
• Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to use data to convey a clear message to clients and the business
• Strong ability to solve business problems through data driven methodologies
• Proficiency and continuous skills development in some leading edge analytic and business intelligence tools
• Self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle multiple priorities concurrently
• Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills
• Technology mindset, curious, up-to-date with digital trends and applications, knowledge of Visa products and solutions preferred
