About the Role  

Ogilvy is looking for a Director, Social Strategy with deep expertise in driving engagement and brand building within the social space. You have a wide array of experience across multiple categories and growth stages, thriving in dynamic, fast-paced environments. You excel at adapting to changing briefs while steering long-term strategies. You bridge traditional advertising with modern possibilities, pitching innovative ideas to global CMOs while fostering junior talent. You’re constantly exploring new brand-building opportunities, with a focus on top performing trends and emerging ones. An avid reader of the trades and scouring of the feeds, you know off the top of your head the brands frequently referenced as best-in-class and who’s up-and-coming. You work well with cross-functional teams, alongside senior creative leads and data analysts, executive clients and day-to-day clients alike. This is a hybrid role in Ogilvy's NYC office.

What You’ll Do 

  • Be the go-to social thought leader in a networked brand organization, representing a future-focused social team with a lot of momentum amongst multidisciplinary teams
  • Strategically guide US clients and global counterparts
  • Oversee briefs and social-first content series to increase brand relevance with continuity from concept to content
  • Collaborate closely with creative leads to ensure high-quality and integrated creative work
  • Integrate social with other disciplines: PR, Brand Strategy, Customer Engagement, Data & Analytics, and Media
  • Innovate and implement key strategic social frameworks
  • Manage and develop senior social strategy team members
  • Act as a trusted strategic partner for major accounts
  • Partner with Account leads to strategically guide the business
  • Contribute to a global thought-leadership network

What You’ll Need 

  • 10-15 years of social-first experience inclusive of content, creator, and community
  • Experience managing teams of strategists and cross-disciplinary teams, leading with empathy and a focus on success for the team as a whole
  • B2B experience (preferred)
  • Expertise in brand and communications planning
  • Proven successful collaboration with creative leaders
  • Sound paid media acumen with the ability to work with media experts within the brand’s broader ecosystem
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of interpreting research and media reports to guide social media strategies 
  • An eye for award-winning opportunities that satisfy clients’ business objectives
  • Experience within the innovation space and future-focused technology
  • Bonus: small business experience, understanding of cybersecurity, US Public Safety, and/or global businesses

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. Pay Range
$100,000$230,000 USD
