Director/Senior Director, Commercial Operations and Analytics

Cogent is seeking a seasoned, dynamic individual with extensive commercial and analytics experience to join our growing Commercial organization. Reporting to the VP of Commercial Operations and Analytics, this role supports the success of Cogent’s portfolio through operational excellence and driving data-driven decision-making across the organization.  In addition, this role will be key to champion initiatives to improve the effectiveness, profitability and growth of the commercial organization, whilst driving Cogent’s customer engagement transformation. 
 
In the short term this role will play a pivotal role in driving Bezuclastinib to the commercial stage by providing and supporting commercial leadership in four key areas. The first is launch excellence: building the platform capabilities, metrics and reporting to assess launch readiness and flawless launches of all pipeline products. The second is marketing excellence: support the marketing organization by building data driven epidemiological forecasts and data to support their marketing plans. The third is sales excellence: planning for the eventual salesforce that will need the tools, training, data, insights and targets to accelerate customer engagement and product demand. The fourth is commercial operations: identifying and leading the key initiatives, projects and processes that will support the commercial operating plan and long-range forecast process for all products in Cogent’s pipeline. The role will collaborate with other stakeholders across the organization (e.g., Marketing, Medical, Pricing and Market Access, Market Development, and Sales) to ensure best practices, alignment and execution of priorities and processes.
 
This position will work out of the Waltham, Massachusetts office.

What You Will Do

  • Lead critical data insight gathering for the portfolio including market research, data management, forecasting, advanced analytics, and reporting.
  • Support the situational analysis of key brands in the portfolio including market sizing, patient journey mapping and customer segmentation.
  • Generate insights through primary and secondary market research and partner with marketing to incorporate into the brand planning process.
  • Lead the competitive landscape assessment for all relevant therapeutic areas
  • Support sales analytics, salesforce sizing, sales training, customer targeting and tracking, incentive plan design and monitoring, customer segmentation that includes reporting, systems, and tools.
  • Support commercial leadership in key commercial operations including communications, global forecast calculations and the commercial operating plan development.

What You Will Bring

  • BS/BA degree in business or related discipline. Advanced degree helpful (e.g., MBA, MSc)
  • Ten (10) or more years of experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries including at least 3-5 years in commercial ops and analytics leadership roles.
  • Oncology and/or Rare Disease experience, including launch experience, is strongly preferred.
  • Experience building and optimizing teams and commercial capabilities is required.
  • Experience in and understanding of other commercial functions (e.g., marketing, market access, sales operations, sales training, insights/analytics, business development, etc.) will be an important consideration for this role.
