The Director of Security (DS) is a key member of the organization as an evangelist, architect, and visionary responsible for understanding security industry trends, customer security needs, and security compliance as it relates to the Coretek client base, partners, and service offerings. This role is critical in the creating, planning, and messaging of the Coretek security offers, especially Managed Security Services (MSSP). This position will be responsible for being a key senior resource and security advisor to customer leadership as part of the strategic discussions in the sales process. The Director of Security (DS) is an internal leader for the security practice and collaborates with senior engineers, enterprise architects, pre-sales, business stake holders, customers, and technology partners to assess opportunities for new technology, updated or new managed security services, processes, or enhancements to existing platforms and managed security services. As a senior resource, the Director of Security is responsible for working with technology leaders on architecture/blueprints and turning those into new or updated security services, and statement of work language of the updated or new security services.
Responsibilities:
- Support the CTO in the continued growth and expansion of the Coretek Security Practice
- Leadership experience and qualities for managing Security / Solutions Architects and working apart of a larger team with peers and subordinates.
- Function as security evangelist, advisor, content creator, and product manager
- Must be a people person and an educator with consulting or internal advisory experience.
- Advisor in how to apply and run a security/risk program and the supporting services and needs for customer senior leadership, internal product management, internal SMEs, internal sales/pre-sales, and support education of the industry via events and materials.
- Must have operational experience in IT security with understanding or experience in the operation of a security operations center, investigations, incident response, or digital forensics.
- Experience in participating in or leading an organizational or tactical cyber security incident response cases is a plus.
- Must have experience in building or supporting a security program that meets a compliance framework (ex. NIST CSF, NIST 800-XXX, ISO 27XXX, CIS, etc.)
- Must be able to collaborate with the internal Architect security SME teams and provide security advisory for the operational ecosystem and support validating the security and data privacy standards, policies, and baselines for Coretek and Coretek’s managed services.
- Provide advisory and input to the future planning of the Coretek ticketing / SOAR systems, customer dashboards, and customer reporting for the platform.
- Serve as a security senior practitioner/advisor, as needed, for escalations, incidents, and other security initiatives.
- Leadership and accountability as the Director of a Practice for overall goal attainment.
- Owning a Number and Responsible for Security LOB Revenue Booking Attainment
- Managed a team of Solution Architects that focus on Security solutions as well as Microsoft technologies around the M365 and Security platforms and products.
- Speaking engagements and Marketing Event support for events hosted across the US.
- Develop, collaborate, and share IP that enables solutions to scale across Coretek’s customers.
- Lead the Microsoft Security design thinking workshops directly with client stakeholders as part of the pre-sales motion of the Solution Selling method.
- Participate in all aspects of the Microsoft Managed Security Services (MSSP) design and costing from start up, analysis, design, and transition to internal delivery teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts throughout the client organization to ensure a comprehensive set of requirements are aligned to business objectives, gaining a full understanding of current business processes.
- Provide in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Security products and platform and evaluate the client’s business requirements against the standard Coretek and Microsoft Offerings
- Participate in business development activities, from opportunity identification, qualification, scoping, solutioning, proposal writing, orals presentations and demonstrations.
Requirements
- For this position tenure in IT and security is important but not the deciding factor. Breadth of experience, entrepreneurial drive, and the advisor mindset with the ability to design, educate, communicate, and lead are more important than years in the business.
- Knowledge and experience in building or leading a security practice, designing multifaceted and secure by designing architectures or programs, a security evangelist/educator, or other security or entrepreneurial ventures.
- MSP/MSSP experience either as a customer or provider strongly desired
- Ability to effectively interact with other IT, Cyber Security, and Compliance Services professionals and communicate clearly with native and non-native English speakers.
- Experience with performing client consultation by way of demonstrations, presentations, and proposal writing apart of a larger go-to-market strategy.
- Experience working with Microsoft Solutions to several types of external systems and can recommend an approach and technology including Sentinel and Purview.
- Knowledge and Experience in Microsoft technologies and can recommend an integration approach using products including Swimlane, Sentinel, Elastic, as well as other SIEM products.
- Industry Certifications including vendor certifications are a plus.
