We are looking for an experienced and self-motivated Director of Sales to lead our team in supporting local merchants, driving revenue and developing a top tier sales organization. This person will be responsible for driving our sales strategy, achieving revenue targets and continuously developing our Account Executive, Account Management and National Sales teams. They will proactively identify how we can best structure our organization to meet the changing demands of the industry and marketplace. They understand and demonstrate a strategic approach to sales with proven success in advancing sales relationships.

What You'll Do:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive sales strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives that drive revenue, increase market share and expand our customer base by pursuing new partner acquisition, new business opportunities, new revenue channel development and customer segments
  •  Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders within the company to ensure alignment and execution of key objectives, securing support to meet and exceed targets
  • Ensure clear lines of responsibility between the Account Executive and Account Management teams are in place and create policies and documentation to maximize efficiency, the merchant experience and revenue outcomes
  • Establish and maintain ambitious, yet achievable sales targets for teams and individuals that are aligned with broader company objectives and financial targets and ensure sales incentives and compensation plans are driving the behaviors and performance needed to meet the needs of the business
  • Manage the annual sales budget including, but not limited to, conferences, business development and weekly expenses of the sales team
  • Develop and implement sales strategies and plans to meet or exceed set targets by analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes to adjust goals as necessary
  • Monitor and assess the performance of the sales team against established goals and provide regular feedback, coaching and support to ensure team members are on track to meet their objectives
  • Implement incentive programs and motivational strategies to drive team performance and achieve goals
  • Understand the “why” behind the performance of the sales team and implement processes that replicate high converting behaviors across the entire sales organization
  • Establish KPIs, track performance metrics and provide regular reports to senior management on sales activities, performance, successes and areas of improvement
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and other departments to proactively identify ways Favor can provide more value to our merchant partners
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive sales growth and achieve business objectives
  • Own the learning and development (L&D) strategy for the sales organization, including training, development and the documentation of processes and expectations 
  • Collaborate directly with our PeopleOps team on the needs of the sales org
  • Partner closely with the Sales Operations team to ensure our SFDC instance, reporting suite and operational processes are efficient and effective

Skills You Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • 12+ years of Sales experience, 5+ years managing people
  • Demonstrated success in directly leading a high-performing sales team
  • Proven ability to drive revenue growth while optimizing an existing book of business
  • Extensive experience driving results through data-driven decision-making, effective coaching and development and excellent collaboration with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully hire and train new sales representatives and leaders while coaching lower performers to success
  • A strong history of executing full life cycle sales over the phone and in person
  • A highly customer-focused mindset and consultative sales approach
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to shift focus based on changing market conditions while managing competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • High operational IQ with a history of driving the processes and analytics that set up revenue driving teams for success
