Job Summary: The Library Head for Digital and Physical Documents is responsible for the strategic management and organization of the company's extensive collection of digital and physical documents. This role involves cataloguing, archiving, and ensuring efficient access to information resources that are critical for the company's operations. The Library Head will also lead a team of library staff and collaborate with various departments to provide exceptional library services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collection Management:
- Acquire, catalogue, and classify digital and physical documents, including books, research papers, reports, and digital files.
- Ensure that the collection remains up-to-date and relevant to the company's needs.
- Digital Asset Management:
- Oversee the digital archiving and management of electronic documents, ensuring data security and long-term preservation.
- Implement best practices for metadata creation and document organization.
- Library Services:
- Provide reference and research support to company employees, helping them find and access relevant information.
- Assist with literature reviews, information requests, and research inquiries.
- Technology Management:
- Manage library software and systems for cataloguing, archiving, and digital resource access.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging library technologies and recommend improvements to enhance library services.
- Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor library staff, including librarians and assistants.
- Ensure that the library team operates efficiently and effectively.
- User Training:
- Develop and conduct training sessions for employees to promote efficient use of digital and physical resources.
- Budget Management:
- Manage the library budget, including acquisitions, subscriptions, and resource maintenance.
- Compliance and Records Management:
- Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and corporate policies.
- Implement records management practices for document retention and disposal.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with different departments and business units to understand their information needs and support their projects.
- Reporting:
- Generate reports on library usage, resource availability, and other key performance indicators.
- Present findings and recommendations to company leadership.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Library Science, Information Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience in library and information management, preferably in a corporate setting.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Knowledge of library software and digital asset management systems.
- Familiarity with data security and compliance regulations.
