The Director of Product will be responsible for defining and executing the strategy, vision, and delivery of Civica’s Education product portfolio. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product design, user research, engineering, and commercial teams, ensuring alignment with Civica’s overarching business objectives and OKRs. Leading a team of product managers, you will oversee the lifecycle management of a diverse product suite, driving innovation and ensuring that Civica’s solutions continue to deliver critical services to citizens worldwide.

Working closely with the Engineering Director, you will shape the product and engineering functions to successfully execute the product roadmap. Your role will involve balancing long-term strategic objectives with immediate development priorities, ensuring products meet market demands while aligning with Civica’s mission to be a global GovTech champion. This includes driving ROI, optimizing product development practices, and ensuring the roadmap supports both business growth and customer needs across various geographies.

As a global senior leader, you will play a key role in defining the product strategy, fostering a culture of transparency, and ensuring alignment across teams. You will use data-driven insights to shape products that enhance user experience and deliver tangible business value. With a hands-on approach, you will coach and mentor a team of product managers, guiding them to deliver high-quality, market-leading solutions. Requirements

What you will need to be successful in this role

  • Extensive experience in Product Management, with significant time in senior leadership roles within product-mature organisations
  • Proven ability to develop and execute product strategies that drive measurable business outcomes (e.g. revenue growth, customer satisfaction, efficiency gains)
  • Experience leading multiple products or complex portfolios, ensuring alignment with company-wide strategic goals
  • Strong track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing product teams
  • Comfortable operating in cross-functional, agile environments with close collaboration across design, user research, engineering, and commercial teams
  • Demonstrated ability to embed a product-led mindset and outcome-focused culture across teams
  • Experience setting and delivering on OKRs and KPIs that measure both delivery and customer/business impact
  • Skilled in stakeholder management and able to influence and align senior leadership on product direction
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into clear, compelling strategies
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of financial principles, market trends, and customer needs to drive strategic decision-making
  • Active contributor to product communities and a strong advocate for product excellence and continuous improvement
