We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of People Engagement to join our team and help strengthen and further build out and grow our People Engagement function.

This person will work directly with the VP of People and will be a key collaborator and thought partner in the overall People Team StackAdapt. This role will focus on managing and enhancing the communication strategies and engagement initiatives within StackAdapt and work across the business to build and deliver on key initiatives including: people communication, engagement survey and action plan building, employee branding,  global employee connect events, and change management initiatives. 

The successful candidate is passionate about people experience and engagement, is a communication expert,  and will think outside the box to build exciting programs across the organization. 

StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada or US for this position. 

What you'll be doing:

  • Drive a communications and engagement strategy, roadmap, and communications calendar to help maintain and improve team member engagement
  • Collaborate with various leaders and members of the Marketing and People teams to plan and improve company-wide team member communications, including Slack, issue comments, and other asynchronous communication, Handbook education, company calls, etc.
  • Act as an advisor to the People leadership team, offering guidance in developing key messages and strategic approaches to internal communications (including newsletters, StackHuddle, Offsites, etc.)
  • Own the internal people editorial calendar and be the chief storyteller, whether it’s through our company newsletter, manager communication, executive videos and/or other communications channels
  • Organize and operate a culture champions program to ensure we have a trusted group of team members to ideate and collaborate with
  • Own the Engagement Survey Cycle (through CultureAmp) process to ensure employee feedback is heard, actioned on, and communicated back to the company
  • Partner closely with internal stakeholders, leaders, and C-suite members to develop change management communications with clarity and empathy
  • Apply change management methodology and lead change management activities for People (HR) initiatives.
  • Support and engage senior leaders with new changes
  • Working closely with HR, marketing, and other departments to align communication and engagement efforts.

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Proven leadership in successful global People Engagement/Experience programs, preferably in technology or high-growth sectors. 
  • Experience in building and maintaining people programs
  • Experience acting as an advisor to broader teams
  • A “how can we make this better?” mentality with a focus on progress over perfection to continuously drive for improvement.
  • Enthusiasm for leading internal communications in a unique, fully remote environment where email and face-to-face meetings are not the standard communication media
  • Excellent narration and writing skills
  • Ability to navigate cultural differences and build global but locally relevant solutions
  • Proficiency in communication tools such as Slack, Zoom, and Google Workspace is a must
  • Deadline oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced environment with ever-changing priorities
  • Ability to work as a Manager of one, as well as work collaboratively
