Position Description
The Director, Payor and Strategic Partnership Contracting is responsible for payor contracting and will provide leadership in all aspects of payor negotiations, contracting, and adapting Eleanor Health to a dynamic payor landscape and reimbursement structures. This role will also support the Chief Growth Officer and senior leadership team in contracting strategic partnerships that create additional value for Eleanor’s community members and that generate revenue and growth opportunities for our business.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the negotiation process for payor contracts, including fee-for-service, value-based, and alternative payment models.
- Negotiate partner contracts to ensure alignment with payors, partnership objectives and Eleanor Health business goals.
- Develop negotiation strategies to optimize reimbursement rates and contract terms.
- Develop contractual agreements with payors and providers, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and provider and program policies.
- Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to review, finalize, and execute contracts.
- Collaborate with partnership team colleagues to review contract performance and identify opportunities for improvement or renegotiation.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with a network of payor organizations and strategic business partners including health insurance companies, government payors, and other stakeholders.
- Generate new opportunities and increase awareness and market knowledge of Eleanor Health through direct outreach and events.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including finance, analytics, operations, legal, compliance, and clinical teams, to align contracting strategies with organizational goals.
- Conduct market analysis to identify payor and provider trends, competitive landscape, and opportunities for partnership.
- Monitor industry changes and regulatory developments to inform contracting strategies and risk mitigation.
- Prepare and present reports on contract performance to executive leadership and relevant stakeholders and recommend adjustments to contracting strategies based on performance analysis and market dynamics.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience with healthcare contracting, pipeline management and growth related roles
- Minimum 5 years direct payor or health system contracting experience.
- Minimum 3 years experience negotiating term sheets with payors and/or healthcare organizations
- Proven understanding of payor reimbursement dynamics such as alternative payment models, value based care and fee for service contract models
Preferred:
- Strong background on solution selling and proven experience selling into the payor market, preferably with value based care contracting.
- An expert at building and maintaining meaningful relationships, establishing credibility, and thinking strategically.
- Skilled in producing and delivery of an effective pitch, compelling value propositions, and care model presentations.
- Proven network within the payor markets and in-depth knowledge of the healthcare industry, payor landscape and health plan needs; behavioral health and SUD knowledge is a strong plus
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities and drive effective strategies.
- Collaborative and team-oriented mindset to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Compensation & Benefits:
The total target compensation range for this position is $145,000 - $160,000 per year + bonus. The actual compensation offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant’s qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job.
