About The Role:
The Director, Paid Media is a cross-agency position, focusing on paid social and search, but with the opportunity to drive broader paid strategy and thinking across the business. The Director, Paid Media is responsible for supporting and driving paid media accounts and programs within the digital team. Key functions include supporting media strategy, overseeing and being hands-on with execution of successful campaigns, primarily with a focus on paid social and search, but also within display, media partnerships and video.
This candidate will have a strong vision of the future of paid and the role they play within the context of the larger media landscape (earned, owned and paid) and is excited by the opportunity to create a new and unique direction for their clients and for the business. In this role, the candidate would help shape and grow a team with diverse capabilities to activate innovative work. This role reports to the SVP, Paid Media.
Responsibilities
- Ability to manage junior staff members overseeing multiple campaigns at once.
- Craft strategy for all paid media channels (both digital and traditional) in partnership with media and account leads.
- Develop knowledge share and POVs across the network.
- Execute and optimize paid social and search campaigns with fluid budgets and aggressive back-end goals.
- Exhibit a solid understanding of key client information including general business strategy, industry issues, products and services offered, key customers and competitors in the marketplace.
- Share responsibility for reporting and take learnings to help drive forward-thinking strategy.
- Understand nuances between various programmatic and data partners to determine optimal partner/strategy for client goals, and negotiate rates.
- Understand social content strategy and have ability to provide recommendations to ensure content resonates with target audiences.
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of experience in the media industry.
- Experience working in ad platforms, including Meta, Google Ads, TikTok, and LinkedIn (Pinterest, Snapchat and all others are a plus).
- Experience working in Prisma is preferred
- Experience working with research tools like Resonate is a plus
- Experience working with healthcare brands (external/internal) is a plus.
- Possess an understanding of media and site performance metrics and the ability to spot trends.
- Proven track record of working closely with other subject matter experts within core digital channel and communications.
- Strong project manager who has experience growing and leading a team.
