About the Job
🚀Moonbug is seeking an experienced Director of YouTube to be responsible for platform content strategy for all our brands. Your primary goal will be to define strategy for cross-platform business models to support the business objectives of growing viewing and revenues across video and music on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and other self-serve distribution platforms.
Moonbug is behind some of the biggest kids' entertainment brands in the world including CoComelon and Blippi. We believe every child should have access to our entertaining and enriching content, which is why our shows are available on more than 150 video platforms globally including Netflix, Disney+, BBC iPlayer and YouTube Kids. Responsibilities
- Identify commercial distribution, content, programming and operations strategies for all self-serve platforms as part of the Platforms & Music senior management group
- Turn strategy into planning with the Vertical Platforms and YouTube teams and take accountability of delivery of those plans against content performance and commercial targets
- Work closely with the Moonbug Studio and Production teams to identify the optimal editorial approach across all self-serve platform distribution
- Management and development of the team structure and individual reports’ objectives and annual development plans
- Work in partnership with the other parts of the Platforms & Music function to maximise achievement across all areas of that business
- Ownership of the understanding of and reporting against the self-serve distribution business model and market, world-wide
- Interrogation data to deliver actionable insights and strategies for growth
- Organize and lead meetings with internal and external stakeholders to present strategy, planning and performance updates
- Keeping up to date with self-serve platform market developments so as to constantly refresh business activity with the latest thinking
What we're looking for in you
- A proven track record in team management and development in a similarly fast-paced environment
- Experience in content strategy and platform relationship management on YouTube - and, ideally, with similar experience in other platforms
- YouTube Certified, with a deep and current knowledge of the YouTube platform (our team is YouTube Certified at all levels of seniority)
- Knowledge of YouTube Content ID a major plus
- Knowledge of paid advertising and Google Ads a major plus
- Experience working with animation/children’s content is preferred but not required
- Proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets for building revenue forecasts and budgets for new and existing content series
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Additional languages are a major asset but not essential
