DIRECTOR OF SYSTEM INTEGRATION & TEST
A Director of System Integration and Test is responsible for leading our system and integration team, the team that is responsible for delivering a fully functional and checked out vehicle and ground system to the launch site. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system integration, test planning and execution, and team leadership. They will be responsible for developing and implementing integration and test strategies to ensure the quality of our products on-time. Setting the best practices for factory checkouts and preparing for launch.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement system integration and test strategies to ensure the successful integration and testing of our hardware, including launch vehicle and ground support equipment
- Lead and manage the system integration and test team, providing guidance and support to build a technically and programmatically strong team
- Collaborate closely with design engineering and launch groups to ensure testing covers full system requirements and that the products are ready for launch
- Establish best practices for system integration and test, defining test plans and troubleshooting standards
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to system integration and test, implementing corrective actions as issues arise and proactively identifying opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
- Influence designs from conception for manufacturability, reliability, and functionality
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field
- Experience in system integration, test planning and execution
- 5+ years of experience building, leading, and developing teams
- 8+ years of experience on complex system integration and tests
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in engineering or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to use a computer to complete assignments
- Ability to communicate with individuals and groups in person, by phone and telepresence
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will typically work in an office environment
