As the Director of Solution Engineering for North America and LATAM, you have a unique opportunity to inspire, grow, and lead a talented team of Solution Engineers. You will be a key player in Actian’s dynamic Solution Engineering and Sales team, focusing on products and services within the Actian portfolio. With your extensive experience and passion for building data solutions, you will help customers achieve their desired business outcomes by supporting and managing mission-critical data workloads with confidence.
Success in the Role: Performance Outcomes for the First 6-12 Months:

Lead and Mentor: Guide and inspire the North America and LATAM Solution Engineering teams. Develop a high-performing, cohesive team that embodies Actian's culture of innovation, collaboration, and customer focus.

Collaborate with Sales Leadership: Partner with North America and LATAM Sales Directors to co-develop and implement strategic plans aligned with Actian’s broader go-to-market strategy. Ensure technical solutions are tightly integrated with business objectives.

Communicate Product Value: Deeply understand the Data Integration, Data Warehousing, and Data Analytics landscape to effectively articulate the unique value propositions of Actian’s product portfolio. Distinguish Actian's offerings in a competitive market through both business and technical lenses.

Foster Team Development: Build a robust and diverse Solution Engineering team through active coaching, regular one-on-ones, skip-level meetings, and team-building activities. Identify skill gaps and implement targeted upskilling and training programs.

Drive Cross-Functional Success: Engage proactively with peers in Sales, Customer Success, Product Management, Technical Marketing, and Professional Services to align efforts and achieve shared goals. Champion the needs of the customer in internal discussions to drive product enhancements and customer satisfaction.

Customer-Centric Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for major customers, understanding their specific needs and demonstrating how Actian solutions can drive business success. Build trust through expert guidance on data modernization and cloud transformation journey.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product Management, Technical Marketing, and Engineering teams during the development, launch, and ongoing refinement of Actian products. Serve as a key advocate for customers and field engineers in product strategy discussions.

Talent Development: Focus on growing and mentoring the Solution Engineering team. Promote a culture of continuous learning, professional growth, and mutual support.

Performance Management: Define clear success metrics for the team and regularly assess progress toward goals. Use data-driven insights to measure impact and identify areas for improvement. Encourage a culture of accountability and excellence.
