About the Role:
Matterport seeks an enthusiastic Director of Software to join our Platform team. You’ll be responsible for crafting and scaling services for the Matterport Platform which serves billions of requests a month for customers and development partners. The ideal candidate is an individual who thrives on new challenges, possesses a strong platform development background, and has a drive to invent. This position will report to the Vice President of Platform Software. #LI-Remote
What you will do:
- Lead the planning, prioritization, and design of new features and services across multiple teams
- Work with cross-functional teams across Product, Sales, Customer Success and Business Development
- Ensure successful integration of customer facing platform services and internal systems
- Advocate for new technical architecture and innovation
- Implement and refine development and cross-functional processes
- Hire, mentor, lead, and coach engineering managers and principals to meet their full potential
- Act as a leader for implementing best-practices across the organization
- May need to travel 10% of the time.
Who you are:
- 10+ years of experience designing and delivering cloud platforms and services
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent
- Experience leading multiple teams across multiple products and services
- Experience developing cloud platforms at scale in languages such as: Python, Java, Go, or Kotlin
- Experience with Linux, MySQL or PostgreSQL, and Git
- Exposure to non-relational data stores like FoundationDB
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in all areas of platform development
- A track record of developing strong relationships with cross functional stakeholders and customers
- Demonstrated experience building and developing teams in a fast paced dynamic environment
- Strong ability to coach, mentor and develop teams

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $185,600 to $260,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
