About The Role:
Human Systems Integration is seeking a dynamic and skilled Director of Sales for Wearable Electronics with a focus on the Soldier Systems and Wearable Computing & Instrumentation markets. As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for growing and leading the sales team, driving revenue growth, and establishing strategic partnerships to expand our presence in the Defense and Commercial sectors. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve company objectives and revenue targets in the Soldier Systems and Wearable Computing & Instrumentation markets. Lead, motivate, and mentor the sales team to maximize their potential and drive results.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify key trends, competitors, and opportunities in the wearable electronics industry. Utilize this knowledge to formulate effective sales strategies and positioning of our products.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with existing and potential Defense and Commercial customers. Understand their unique needs, pain points, and objectives to tailor solutions that meet and exceed their expectations.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the target markets. Collaborate with the marketing and product development teams to conceptualize and launch innovative products that address customer demands.
  • Proven experience in exploring and expanding into adjacent commercial markets for wearable products and solutions. This includes, but is not limited to, markets such as Public Safety, Industrial Safety, Mine Safety, Offshore Oil & Gas, and Medical. The candidate should demonstrate a strategic mindset to identify new opportunities, conduct market analysis, and develop effective entry strategies to maximize the reach and impact of wearable electronics solutions in diverse industries.
  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and regularly report on sales performance, pipeline development, and market trends to the executive team.
  • Work closely with the finance and legal teams to establish competitive pricing strategies and lead contract negotiations with customers, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and events to showcase our wearable electronics solutions and build brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product development, and marketing teams to align sales strategies with product roadmaps and ensure seamless execution of projects.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the sales team, continuously measuring performance and implementing improvements to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure that all sales activities and processes comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in sales, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position within the Soldier Systems, wearable electronics or related industry.
  • Strong understanding of the Soldier Systems and Wearable Computing & Instrumentation markets, including trends, customer needs, and competition.
  • Established network and connections within the Defense and Commercial sectors, with a proven track record of successful sales and customer retention.
  • Ability to grasp technical concepts related to wearable electronics and effectively communicate them to customers.
  • A strategic and analytical mindset to identify new business opportunities and develop sales plans accordingly.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers, team members, and stakeholders.
  • A demonstrated history of meeting and exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt quickly to changing market conditions.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers, attend industry events, and support the sales team.
