Position Overview:

The Director of Program Management (Incident Response) will play a central role in coordinating the response to service disruptions and production defects. For these issues, the Director of Program Management (Incident Response) will drive the process of technical business impact analysis, facilitation of drafting internal and external communications, and in some cases organize the technical remediation. In addition, this role will push forward continuous improvement to the defined process. Strong executive communication skills are a must as you will work closely with leadership across Engineering, Product, Legal, Finance, and Commercial teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage active incidents, inclusive of:
    • Clearly identifying ownership and responsibilities throughout the incident lifecycle
    • Outreach and escalation to internal teams and management
    • Facilitating cross-team collaboration during incidents
    • Communicate incident status and team responsibilities to stakeholders and leadership
    • Play an active role in ensuring teams and individuals are moving as quickly as possible towards a successful outcome
  • Improve upon a standard incident management process that will be used as a common framework for managing any business-disrupting event, reflecting the full sequence of phases and actions needed to fully and quickly resolve an incident
  • Train and onboard internal teams to ensure successful adoption of the incident management process
  • Actively participate in post-mortems to identify ways to continually improve our detection and remediation of problems
    • Track post-mortem commitments and follow up with responsible teams to ensure continuous progress and improvement
  • Identify common themes that span incidents, which may indicate systemic issues

 

Key qualities of a successful Director of Program Management (Incident Response):

  • An excellent communicator, capable of successfully interacting with many teams and stakeholders of different backgrounds and levels, including senior leadership
  • Experience managing and motivating a team of program managers
  • A results-oriented mentality and a willingness to roll up sleeves to make progress
  • Highly organized and analytical, capable of managing the details of an active incident, as well as identifying larger trends that span multiple incidents, teams and systems
  • Understanding of how to treat sensitive issue with appropriate levels of care
  • Data-oriented, with an instinct towards measurement as a key component of long-term progress and success
  • Possessing an interest and curiosity for learning new technologies and processes
  • Adept at handling multiple tasks and remain level-headed during significant incidents

 

Requirements:

  • 7-10 years of Project Management experience
  • 3-5 years of people management experience
  • Proven ability to successfully develop, document and implement strategic processes in a complex environment, spanning multiple teams and systems
  • Deep experience communicating with executive stakeholders 
  • Comfortable discussing complex technical issues 
  • Incident management experience a very strong nice to have


The successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on a number of non-discriminating factors, including qualifications for the role, level, skills, experience, location, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at DV.
The estimated salary range for this role based on the qualifications set forth in the job description is between [$140,000- $278,000]. This role will also be eligible for bonus/commission (as applicable), equity, and benefits.
