About the Role
As a Director of Product for Data Platforms at PayZen, you will help drive the product strategy and roadmap for the data platforms. You will help define and drive the vision and strategy for the data architecture, data warehouse and data pipelines for the core product, BI dashboards, analytics and AI models. You will also drive the data security and data access requirements. This is a highly impactful role that requires working with cross-functional stakeholders and the leadership team. We are a global company operating in the United States and Israel, and this role is expected to collaborate across time zones. This role will be based in our San Francisco office.
What you will do
- Own products and features that help increase the affordability and access of healthcare for millions of Americans by expanding and scaling robust and resilient data platforms
- Guide the technical vision and strategy for an accurate, scalable, usable, and reliable data platform and infrastructure
- Create governing principles for data access, accuracy, freshness, etc for all data organizations
- Build a strategic roadmap for our data platform and take the concepts from idea through validation, shipping, measurement, and iteration
- Understand the needs of our customers and define clear requirements by conducting user research and incorporating the best ideas as required from the industry trends
- Collaborate and execute initiatives across a team of global colleagues in engineering and analytics to deliver an outstanding data platform to our internal and external customers
- Define and analyze metrics that inform the success and ongoing health of the data platforms
- Represent the team's work effectively in writing and presentations to the executive leadership
- Maximize efficiency in a fast-moving environment
What you will bring
- At least 12+ years of experience in working with data platforms in a direct capacity as a data engineer or a data product manager
- At least 6+ years of experience as a product manager for data platforms, with a proven track record of developing and scaling data platforms that meet the business needs
- Strong analytical skills with a deep understanding of KPIs, OKRs, and other key metrics. Experience in using data to drive decision-making and prioritize features based on impact to the company.
- Ability to gather and synthesize information from multiple sources and create clear and comprehensive product specs (PRDs) that minimize the need for additional research by engineers.
- Experience in defining data models for the data warehouse for BI dashboards, analytics and AI models
- Experience in data anonymization requirements for the data warehouse
- Experienced in defining data access and security requirements for the data warehouse
- Well-versed in SQL and has an ability to roll-up their sleeve to do hands-on work if needed to make progress.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, analysts, and cross-functional stakeholders, to gather requirements and ensure successful launches of new data platform capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and deliver high-quality platform capabilities on time and within budget.
- Familiarity with the latest technologies and trends in the industry and the ability to work closely with engineers to ensure the feasibility and technical soundness of platform capability ideas.
- Experience working at both early stage startups as well as larger companies, to demonstrate adaptability to different environments and the ability to thrive in both.
- Ability to work from the company's San Francisco office.
