Role Overview

We are currently looking for a Director of Product responsible for the Customer Domain of Booksy products. (we use this term to refer to the end consumer). In this role you will shape the relevant product strategies and lead product development for Booksy customers who use our products to discover and book services. In your scope you will look after the  broad domains of consumer onboarding, search and discovery, engagement and appointment booking. You will lead 4 teams and report to Booksy Chief Product Officer.  This is a critical leadership role that will have a broad strategic impact, influencing not just product development but also overall  business strategy.

The role is remote, with occasional travel involved and based in the UK, Spain, Portugal or Poland. 

Requirements

Define strategy and corresponding roadmap 

    • Set an ambitious, strategic plan and roadmap for the Customer product of Booksy with 12 months time horizon 
    • Foster customer focus  - ensure that all product development is grounded in customer needs and informed by customer evidence 
    • Lead innovation - analyze, identify and quantify opportunities for new product features and new products
    • Establish clear, data informed prioritization and manage key trade offs, particularly balancing scalability with speed and innovation

Execution, operational excellence and impact 

    • Bring the roadmap to reality through disciplined planning and execution (planning, discovery, effective delivery)
    • Establish an operational rigor, including defining clear input and output metrics and a regular review rhythm of relevant metrics and progress of initiatives in flight 
    • Drive impact - measure progress and deliver customer value and business results 

Leadership, team development and collaboration

    • Foster an effective collaboration between product development functions (engineering, design, data, research)  
    • Be a focal point for stakeholder collaboration and alignment across the organization resulting in joint prioritization, focus and fast iterative learning. 
    • Establish and foster a strong product craft and culture that attracts top product talent and yields customer and business value. 
    • Hire, coach and develop a high performing team of product professionals. 

Key Qualifications

  • Strong experience in product management experience with increasing scope and complexity.
  • Consumer products experience (marketplaces preferably) , ideally including practical knowledge of top of the funnel acquisition and mid-funnel engagement.
  • Customer focused mindset backed up with a toolkit to work back from customers. 
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver impact in a growth environment where priorities shift fast and tough trade offs across the portfolio of products need to be made regularly. High comfort with ambiguity and frequent change. 
  • Operational excellence and discipline -  experience of setting up and scaling agile product development processes involving KPIs ownership, progress monitoring, continuous improvement, and rapid iteration.
  • Pragmatic with speed over perfection mindset.   
  • Clear product craft expertise and credibility gained bringing multiple products to market.
  • Data and evidence based approach - comfortable with data, able to analyze and draw conclusions and  guide teams in making informed, evidence-based decisions.
  • Leadership skills and track record of leading, building and developing high performance product teams.
  • Comfort and experience of moving between strategy work and getting hands on and deep into execution and operations.
  • Ability to work closely, build trust and alliances across stakeholders, domains and functions (operations/business and engineering in particular). 
  • Self-starter comfortable working independently with minimum steering or supervision.
