What you will do:
The Director of Process Safety will primarily lead the company’s safety program, including both machine safety and occupational safety programs. The responsibilities will include:

Implements with passion and conviction, the health and safety culture of the company

Implements internal programs for pilot plant functional safety

Implements OSHA compliant workplace safety programs

Advises from concept to commissioning of equipment, process, and control scheme design

Works with cross functional engineering teams to advise and inform on designing the best practices with regards to machine, plant, and occupational safety

Works with external engineering firms and EPCs to develop joint safety protocols in construction and operation of high throughput electrowinning plants

Ownership of both prototype and production plant safety programs and protocols

Leads HAZOPs and risk assessments to minimize workplace incidents and hazards

Leads internal hazard mitigation and reporting programs to track and diminish facility hazards

Participates in plant and machine FMEAs

Advises and implements machine facing safety features including guarding, interlocking controls, and corrosion/explosion mitigation strategies

Manages day-to-day administration of programs and serves as the company’s subject matter expert in all things safety

Reads, understands, and complies with all workplace health and safety policies, safe work practices, and company policies and procedures

Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor

Understanding of plant startup/shutdown protocols and best practices

Experience working in chemical plant, mining or oil and gas environment

Experience working with high power rectifier equipment

Experience working with hydrogen or other flammable gasses

Experience with controls tables and safety interlocking strategies
Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $150,000-$200,000 annually and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
