 Job Description

Who we are

Verona is an authenticated matchmaking community designed exclusively for the modern, global Indian. We’re on a mission to foster fulfilling partnerships that last lifetimes. In a country where dating app disillusionment abounds, Verona makes the matchmaking process delightful—and effective.

Verona was founded by two serial entrepreneurs Mr. Poshak Agrawal and Mr. Rahul Subramaniam, and backed by some of the biggest names in global technology, such as Mr. Michael Novogratz (ex-Fortress Investment Group, CEO of Galaxy Group Investments) & Mr. Rishi Jaitly (ex-Twitter CEO for Asia, Middle East, and Africa).

Security and Science make the basis of Verona where before matchmaking there will be Fintech-grade authentication to ensure fraud detection. Through a deep appreciation for the science of compatibility, with Verona, we will be using AI for matchmaking based on an individual's core & shared values.

The 3 S’s of Verona - Standards, Security, and Science

Role Overview

We are seeking a Creative Director for our Verona Network content. This person is responsible for designing the visual concept of each of our segments. Their objective is to bring the vision behind each episode to life. This means they spearhead cinematography, set design, and post-production. They design each aspect of the frame and oversee the visual story-telling from conception to final edit delivery. More simply, they are responsible for how our content looks.

Most of their responsibilities will be similar to that of Director of Photography (DOP), but like most independent filmmakers they will be required to wear many hats (Editor and Art Director to name a few). We require someone who is technically proficient, but also a creative collaborator and story-teller.

A strong understanding of camera, lighting, composition, and editing are essential to excel in this role. Ideally, this individual has significant film production experience. Perhaps they’ve directed their own short films, have experience as a DOP, or worked behind the camera or on the direction team for a larger production (feature film, web series, ad campaigns, etc).

While they will be expected to participate in the ideation of our segments and episodes, their primary focus is on execution, specifically film production and post-production. Therefore they should be knowledgeable about film equipment and editing softwares.

We need this individual to improve our production quality, and put systems in place to maintain such quality standards. This role is also managerial in nature, so mentorship and skill-building for other team members is also expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the production cycle, from pre-production to final edit delivery.
  • Collaborate with our Segment Producers to bring their vision for each episode to life.
  • Partner with our Creative Producer to maintain standards and brand alignment across all our content.
  • Develop a unique visual style for each short and long-format segment.
  • Manage camera, lighting, and set design to ensure high-quality video production.
  • Manage film equipment, production timelines, and general shoot logistics.
  • Use the allocated budget to invest in film equipment and set dressing to improve quality.
  • Be a thought partner in building the Verona Network into a film production studio.
  • Edit videos end to end, but also be a Supervising Editor for the rest of our editing team.
