about the director of people role:

soona is looking for a director of people to lead our talent management, human resource and recruiting functions with the goal of continuing to grow soona as a highly sought after employer with an exceptional crew and culture. responsibilities for this senior role are broad, strategic and highly impactful. they include recruiting for executive and staff positions, hr compliance across multiple states, compensation strategy, benefits administration, onboarding, the employee review process, employee satisfaction, and support and enhancement of soona’s culture. the ideal candidate will have deep experience in the organization’s culture building and talent strategy with an exceptional ability to communicate at all levels of the company. this individual will be a proven producer, dynamic, extremely comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and energized by rapid growth and scale. 

this is a full-time position located in denver.

Requirements

GROW SOONA TALENT:

this role will oversee the full suite of soona talent and hr functions including, but not limited to the following:

  • foster leadership and management growth strategies by developing and hosting training programs for emerging leaders 
  • develop KPI and measurement strategies for assessing our performance 
  • communicate critical people and HR related messages across the organization 
  • work across departments to build, implement, and update staffing plans that support the business strategy and growth trajectory
  • create and manage an effective and competitive compensation strategy with our finance team
  • run the employee benefits, leaves and perks programs to ensure competitiveness, effectiveness, efficiency and alignment with soona culture and values 
  • develop and implement departmental budget with the help of the finance team
  • resolve employee performance issues and/or conflicts directly or through manager support with industry best practices and the soona culture
  • in coordination with leadership, proactively support performance management
  • maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; exercises this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to the company
  • run all compliance for country, local, state, and federal regulations including any temporary health and safety regulations
  • conduct research and analysis of organizational trends including review of surveys, reports and metrics from the organization's human resource information system (HRIS), preferably Rippling HRIS, and talent management system, preferably Workable ATS
  • work with co-founders to nurture soona’s dynamic culture to ensure that it increases employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention while fostering diversity and inclusion
  • manage the existing HR crew and delegate responsibilities effectively
  • set the standard for management by consistently providing and receiving feedback 

SUPPORT ATTRACTING NEW TALENT:

  • lead and develop the soona recruiting and hiring process including building a sourcing process for talent pipelines
  • support each department’s hiring needs with quality, diverse candidates that match soona’s culture
  • develop and execute the new employee onboarding experience that aligns with company and departmental goals to ensure success for new staff
  • manage all 3rd party hiring and recruiting systems including contract recruiting and  staffing agency partnerships, ranging from technical to executive talent searches
  • build and promote the soona brand as an employer of choice

VENDOR PARTNERSHIP:

  • manage and measure our tools effectively which help run our organization
  • make recommendations on existing human management capital (HCM) products and identify new tools that create time or cost savings
  • maintain a strong relationship with all partners, including legal, finance, insurance and others, as needed

the ideal candidate has experience in:

  • 10 years people and talent development, with recruiting experience; BA/BS desired
  • proven and measurable experience building and/or rolling out impactful talent solutions in a fast-paced or high growth environment; 
  • exceptional communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and problem solving skills; ability to effectively address tricky situations and have difficult conversations
  • self starter and task juggler with strong organizational skills/detail orientation
  • demonstrated experience working across all levels of an organization
  • proven ability to produce a quality pipeline of candidates 
  • experience supporting the evolution of a high performing, high morale culture is a strong plus in our hiring process 
  • experience recruiting for technology positions 

Benefits
