We’re seeking a strategic and operational leader to join our People & Culture team as the Director of People & Culture Operations. This position will play a key role in shaping and executing the operational functions that drive an exceptional employee experience while ensuring compliance and efficiency across HR processes. This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with the expectation that the candidate resides within a reasonable driving distance of one of our offices in VT, CT, MA, MD, or NH. Some travel to these offices will be required to maintain team connectivity and support onsite needs.

As the Director of People & Culture Operations, you will:

  • Lead and optimize HR processes, workflows, and systems to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
  • Oversee compliance efforts, ensuring alignment with labor laws and Aspire’s internal policies.
  • Manage benefits and compensation programs, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with Aspire’s goals.
  • Oversee leave administration and ensure seamless, compliant management of employee leave programs.
  • Drive HRIS management (UKG Pro), ensuring data integrity, effective reporting, and system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment across HR operations, talent acquisition, and employee engagement.
  • Lead key projects such as benefits renewals, HR technology implementations, and policy updates.

Key Responsibilities:

Process Improvement & Compliance

    • Identify opportunities to automate and streamline HR operations.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws, managing audits and regulatory filings.
    • Collaborate with the legal team to assess and mitigate HR-related risks.

Benefits & Compensation

    • Manage benefits programs, including medical, dental, retirement, and wellness initiatives.
    • Lead compensation strategies, including benchmarking, pay equity, and merit adjustments.

HRIS Management

    • Oversee the HRIS (UKG Pro) to ensure accuracy, reporting capabilities, and alignment with organizational needs.
    • Partner with IT to troubleshoot, implement upgrades, and integrate new functionalities.

Team Leadership

    • Lead and develop a team of HR professionals, providing coaching and mentorship.
    • Foster collaboration across the People & Culture team to ensure a seamless employee experience.

Project Management

    • Drive HR projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and timelines.

What You Bring:

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; SHRM-CP/PHR or SHRM-SCP/SPHR preferred.
    • Experience: 7+ years in HR, with 5+ years in operations, compliance, or management roles. Experience with UKG Pro is a plus.
    • Skills:
      • Expertise in HR operations, compliance, and benefits administration.
      • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and advanced Excel skills.
      • Strong project management and problem-solving abilities.
      • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
