Ubisoft Bordeaux is looking for an experienced Director of Operations (F/M/NB) to join the Ubisoft Connect team, a multi-platform ecosystem of player services and the go-to destination for your Ubisoft games. 

The candidate will oversee and optimize the transverse functions of Ubisoft Connect: program management, live operations, and quality assurance. Those functions support our functional domains: cross-platform experience, PC games distribution, game streaming and e-commerce.  

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in gaming, technology, and operations management, with a motivation for delivering advanced user experiences.  

Key Responsibilities  

Strategic Planning: Develop and deliver operational strategies aligned with Online Services and Ubisoft Connect's goals and priorities. 

Team Leadership: Guide and mentor, a team of managers and specialists, building a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation. Provide guidance and support to ensure team members achieve their full potential.   

Process Optimization: Streamline operational workflows and processes to improve productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction. Implement best practices and standard operating procedures to drive consistency and scalability.  

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, customer support, and marketing, to align operational activities with business needs and priorities.  

Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of Ubisoft Connect's operational functions. Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges related to operational activities and develop mitigation strategies to minimize their impact. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.  

Vendor Management: Together with development directors from the domains, develop relationships with third-party vendors and service providers, negotiating contracts and agreements as needed. Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

Continuous Improvement : Promote a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations team. Encourage feedback and suggestions for process enhancements and technological advancements.  

Hard skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations Management, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.  
  • Solid background in operations management, ideally within the gaming or technology field.  
  • Solid leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.  
  • Proficient in data analysis and adept at resolving complex issues through informed decision-making strategies.  
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) is desirable.  

Soft skills

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams and levels of the organization.  
  • Proven skill in navigating environments that require balancing numerous tasks and meeting tight deadlines with efficiency.
  • Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the gaming industry landscape.

Location: role based in Bordeaux – France

Remote: hybrid model
