As Director of Modern Workplace, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of work at WPP. You will lead the charge in designing, implementing, and managing innovative collaboration and productivity technologies that empower our global workforce to thrive in a dynamic hybrid work environment. Your leadership will be fundamental in optimizing our technological potential, ensuring seamless business operations, and fostering a user-centric culture across the organization.

What you'll be doing:

  • Design, implement, and manage cost-effective, cutting-edge hybrid working solutions across WPP, ensuring a smooth transition into our new One WPP campus offices.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive strategy for collaboration and productivity technologies, carefully considering cost implications and maximizing value.
  • Lead and inspire a global team of technology professionals, fostering a user-centric mindset, promoting professional growth, and instilling a cost-conscious approach to operations.
  • Establish and maintain a "suite of standards" for all collaboration and productivity technologies at WPP, including cost-effective global operational standards that ensure consistency and excellence.
  • Oversee the technology lifecycle management for collaboration and productivity technologies, from strategic selection to responsible decommissioning.
  • Cultivate and manage strong relationships with key technology partners, ensuring maximum value from existing and future contracts and diligently managing SLAs for optimal performance.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of cost-effective multi-channel communication services, including platforms for broadcast messaging, enterprise social networking, group-wide video streaming, VOD, and virtual events, while effectively managing application costs.

What you'll need:

  • A strong understanding of the evolving landscape of collaboration and productivity technologies, with the ability to anticipate and adapt to future trends.
  • Proven experience in designing, implementing, and managing modern workplace solutions, ideally within a large, global organization.
  • Expertise in leading and motivating global teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and customer-centricity.
  • A track record of successfully managing complex technology projects, demonstrating strong organizational, planning, and execution skills.
  • Expertise in budget management and cost optimization strategies, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • The ability to build and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders and technology partners, effectively communicating complex information and negotiating favourable outcomes.
  • A deep understanding of operational best practices, including the development and implementation of global standards, service level agreements, and performance metrics.
  • Experience in managing multi-channel communication services, including familiarity with various platforms and technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, develop creative solutions, and implement effective preventative measures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
