ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Inflammatix, Inc. is a venture-backed molecular diagnostics company with headquarters in Sunnyvale, California that is reimagining diagnostics by “reading” the patient’s immune system to deliver rapid results that improve patient care. The company’s initial focus is on acute infections and sepsis, where its tests combine proprietary biomarkers and advanced machine learning to help physicians quickly get the right treatments to the right patients. Our first test, the TriVerityTM Acute Infection and Sepsis test (in development) is designed to aid Emergency Medicine physicians to improve clinical decisions in patients suspected of acute infection and sepsis.  TriVerity runs on our MyrnaTM instrument, sample-to-answer isothermal benchtop analyzer in 30 minutes, enabling the power of precision medicine at the point of care.

We are seeking an accomplished, mission driven Director of Marketing to lead marketing through TriVerity product launch and commercialization.  Our successful candidate will have an extensive background in launching and scaling novel medical technology products (diagnostics or device instrumentation with a small footprint) to hospitals and clinic customers.  Our new Director of Marketing will be responsible for developing both inbound marketing (product management) and outbound marketing (branding, messaging, and digital).  From an inbound perspective, they will ensure that the voice of customer drives the company’s product development efforts. Additionally, outbound marketing will include product launch and development of inspiring and compelling medical education and marketing campaigns for rapid and loyal customer adoption. The first priority is to lead outbound activities to support United States launch of TriVerity contributing both in strategic and tactical execution.  This role reports to the Chief Business Officer, and offers terrific growth opportunities for mission-driven, collaborative contributors.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create, coordinate and execute the company’s initial Go-To-Market (GTM) plan (including identifying key segments and targets), and all future marketing strategies.
  • Develop storytelling content, messaging, branding campaigns, call-to-action-oriented advertising and medical education programs targeted toward key customer segments.
  • Understanding customer needs and buying processes, including those of physicians, and lab directors
  • Collaborate with other departments on initiatives like to publication/conference planning and forecasting.
  • Oversee product management efforts associated with product development, including determining the appropriate customer requirements for optimal product adoption.
  • Define and oversee qualitative and quantitative market research projects and analysis.
  • Manage vendors related to branding, public relations, market research, medical education and more.
  • Build and manage marketing budget and team; develop and mentor marketing team as the company grows.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 7+ years’ diagnostics product management, marketing and launch experience, preferably focused on introducing novel technologies to hospitals- Focus in infectious disease and Emergency Medicine a plus.
  • Experience implementing multi-channel marketing programs, including digital, for a novel product.
  • Adept at developing and using market research to obtain insights and set plans.
  • Experience selecting and managing vendors including, branding, market research and event management.
  • Demonstrated success collaborating with sales, clinical and product development colleagues.
  • Bachelor’s degree with relevant advanced degree a plus.
  • Startup experience preferred.

  • Ability to travel 20% time (initially mostly domestic travel).

 SALARY AND CLASSIFICATION:

  • Classification: Full-time, exempt

  • The base salary range for this position is $193,000 -$222,000 per year which represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this exempt position.
    • Please note that actual offer will vary based on factors including, but not limited to the candidate's geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors including internal equity. As such, there is the possibility that the final, agreed-upon base salary may be outside of the lower or upper end of the range. Please also note the compensation range listed is just one component of the company's total rewards package. A bonus and/or long term incentive units may be provided as part of the total compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
    • S. employees are offered medical, dental and vision insurance, as well as access to HSA, FSA, commuter, LTD, STD and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in our company 401k plan and employer match. Employees accrue up to 15 paid vacation days, 7 paid sick days and 10 paid holidays per calendar year. Inflammatix U.S. offices are closed for winter break each year between Christmas and New Years Day and the company offers this time as additional paid time off for U.S. salaried/exempt employees.
