About the role:

In this role reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Director of IT will own and manage information technology strategy, policy and execution across the organization, including IT infrastructure, business application management, end-user support, and security & compliance. This role oversees the integration, maintenance, and support of cloud-based collaboration tools, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, human resource information systems (HRIS), and other cloud-based business applications.

 

What you’ll be doing:

IT Infrastructure and End-User Support

  • Manage a lean IT function for a global organization of remote employees and contractors to ensure cost-effective deployment of tools that enable the business to efficiently scale.
  • Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and support of cloud-based collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace, Slack, Notion).
  • Ensure the availability, security, and performance of IT systems and services.
  • Develop and implement IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Manage the IT help desk, providing end-user support, including onboarding & offboarding.

Business Applications Management

  • Oversee the integration and maintenance of key SaaS-based business applications across the organization.
  • Ensure the security, reliability and performance of business applications
  • Develop and implement application support processes and procedures
  • Collaborate closely with the Engineering function to partner on integrations between packaged business applications and proprietary software developed in house.

IT General Controls & Compliance

  • Leverage your prior experience to support global data & security compliance certifications and audits.  
  • Collaborate with Legal and Finance teams to build policy, processes and procedures to ensure the company’s IT General Controls meet SOC2, SOX, PCI and other compliance standards.

Leadership & Strategic Planning

  • Define and execute an Information Technology roadmap to ensure Resident’s use of software continues to be both effective and compliant.
  • Recruit, train, and manage a team of IT professionals and business analysts.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for IT and business application operations.

 

Skills & Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in IT management, with a strong background in both IT infrastructure and business applications
  • Worked in rapidly scaling organizations with remote teams around the globe
  • Intimate knowledge of IT general controls, security best practices, compliance and regulatory standards like PCI, SOC2, SOX, GDPR, CCPA, etc
  • Proficient in modern cloud collaboration tools like Google Workspace, Slack, Notion and others
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Experience in startups and scaled/mature businesses alike - know what it takes to build lightweight process to balance control and agility
