Overview of Role
The Director of IT is a critical leadership role responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all technology systems and infrastructure across the organization. This role requires a strong leader with a deep understanding of system administration, customer support, vendor management, and global IT operations. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy aligned with 66degrees’ overall business goals and objectives.
- Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to assess their potential impact and application within the organization.
- Lead the digital transformation initiatives, including cloud computing, cybersecurity, and data analytics.
- Oversee the IT budget and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
- Manage and maintain all IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, databases, and end-user devices
- Ensure the availability, reliability, and security of all systems and data.
- Implement and enforce IT policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Oversee system upgrades, patches, and maintenance to optimize performance and security.
- Lead the IT support team to provide timely and effective resolution of technical issues for employees and clients globally.
- Develop and maintain service level agreements (SLAs) for IT support.
- Implement tools and processes to improve customer satisfaction and streamline support operations.
- Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure vendors meet performance expectations.
- Stay informed about new vendor offerings and technologies.
- Oversee IT operations across all global locations, ensuring consistent service delivery and support.
- Manage international technology infrastructure, including network connectivity and data centers.
- Address the unique IT challenges and requirements of different regions and countries.
- Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing IT team.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Provide professional development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in IT management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing IT strategies.
- Familiarity with ITSM principles, frameworks (like ITIL), and best practices for service delivery and support.
- Understanding of basic IDP setups, SSO, and provisioning protocols like SAML, OAuth, SCIM, and SFTP.
- Strong understanding of system administration, network security, and cloud computing.
- Experience managing global IT operations and supporting international clients.
- Excellent vendor management and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of reviewing and managing security questionnaires for a PMO/service type business.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience. .
