Mission Summary

In this role, you will lead the global HR Business Partner team as they partner with executives, management and HR Centers of Excellence to formulate human capital strategies, coach managers and leaders, deliver engaging HR programs, resolve employee relations matters, manage policies and drive talent management initiatives. This role is based in Boston, which is a hub for Motional’s leadership, engineering and corporate teams. In this role, you will act as both player and coach with direct ownership of supporting Motional’s Global SG&A organization including two C-suite executives as well as managing 4 HRBPs and HR Managers across our locations in the US and Singapore. This role will also be responsible for day-to-day HR onsite support for the Boston office as needed. This role will report to the Sr Dir, Head of HR.  This is a Hybrid position 3 days on 2 days off.

What you'll be doing

  • You’ll drive the HRBP team as they efficiently and effectively support Motional through all HR programs such as performance reviews, merit and promotion planning, and employee surveys. 
  • You’ll add value by building trusting relationships with leaders, managers, employees, within HR and cross-functionally. 
  • You’ll act as a steward of Motional’s culture and core values. 
  • You’ll partner with the business to understand attrition, improve engagement, and ultimately retain and develop talent. 
  • You’ll consult with leaders on policy, organizational design, compliance, and change management.
  • You’ll instill consistent standards and best-practices into our HRBP support model. 
  • You’ll oversee employee relations issues and ensure each receives a thorough and objective investigation and resolution. 
  • You’ll lead the HRBP team to roll out cross-functional initiatives such as mentorship programming.
  • You’ll act as a proactive advisor, coach and sounding board for leadership. 
  • You’ll lead efforts around assessment of talent, potential, and succession planning.
  • You’ll contribute to the full employee lifecycle and take ownership for improving employee experiences. 
  • You’ll partner with the talent acquisition team on internal offers, workforce planning, onboarding and offboarding. 
  • You’ll provide great customer service with day-to-day requests and questions. 
  • You’ll conduct compensation evaluations working with the compensation COE. 
  • You’ll lead and contribute to internal communication plans.

What we're looking for

  • You have successfully led a highly engaged HR team of at least 3+ individuals.
  • You are adaptable, strategic and an excellent communicator, both verbally and written. 
  • You add value by listening thoughtfully, developing strong understanding of the business and coaching managers and leaders. 
  • You have at least 8 years of experience in HR positions having responsibility for:
    • Business partnership
    • Global HR programs
    • Employee relations and investigations
    • Policy administration
    • Compensation, Benefits and Employment Law acumen
    • Supporting a variety of employment types including non-exempt and contingent
  • You have worked in a business environment with multi-state and global locations. 
  • You have a track record of building strong relationships and working collaboratively with others.
  • You influence and drive results cross-functionally.
  • You have strong knowledge of employment law and implications.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel is required up to 15% a year
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to convey and detect communication
  • The employee is occasionally required to remain stationary at times for up to 50% of working time, move in designated working areas; & operate and use office equipment
  • The employee must occasionally move up to 50 pounds
  • You have strong knowledge of employment law and implications.

 

 

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors including but not limited to specific skills, experience and expertise, role location, certifications, licenses, and business needs. Salary Range
$168,000$210,000 USD
