CES is seeking a Director of Emerging Technologies with a proven record as a thought leader in the energy markets As a Director of Emerging Technologies, your primary responsibilities will include identifying and cultivating business opportunities, managing complex projects in the realm of emerging technologies, and positioning our company as a leader in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Business Development
- Identify and develop business opportunities with new and existing clients, responding to inquiries and offering market insights.
- Position our company as a thought leader in the industry by engaging with key decision-makers, presenting at industry events and conferences, and demonstrating our expertise.
- Lead and coordinate the preparation and responses to Request for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring submissions are comprehensive and timely.
- Monitor and track the progress of submitted proposals, providing regular updates and strategic feedback to management.
- Conduct in-depth market research and collaborate with the marketing department to refine and improve marketing materials and strategies.
- Project Management
- Oversee and manage the execution of qualitative and technical aspects of consulting projects focusing on emerging technologies such as energy storage, Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), electric vehicles, and green hydrogen.
- Utilize and contribute to CES’s suite of dispatch and financial models for valuing energy projects, advising on improvements that align with evolving market rules and regulations.
- Develop high-quality presentation materials and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure the successful execution of client contracts, from negotiation to closure, while adhering to all relevant company policies and procedures.
- Minimum 8 years of power industry experience.
- Subject Matter Expert (SME) in energy storage Distributed Energy Resources (DERs), eMobility or green hydrogen.
- Proven track record in sales, marketing, business development, and project management.
- In-depth understanding of energy, ancillary services, and capacity frameworks within the US ISO/RTO markets.
- In-depth understanding of state and utility programs for renewable energy technologies.
- Strong verbal communication, writing and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical/quantitative skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with both US and remote teams.
- Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth understanding of distribution energy resources (DERs) pairing with renewables.
- In-depth understanding in energy storage dispatch modeling.
- Knowledge of Vehicle-to-Anything (V2X) applications.
- Knowledge of green hydrogen market and applications.
- Familiarity with RTO/ISO transmission planning and generation interconnection processes.
Location:
- This is a remote position within US, preferably in the Northeast or Texas.
Travel:
- Periodic travel to attend regulatory meetings, conferences, company quarterly meetings at our headquarters in Philadelphia.
