Why this role

As a key member of the People Leadership team, the Director, Compensation will lead both the strategy and the operations for compensation Evolve. Your focus will be on the Evolver Experience through the lens of short and long term compensation. You will provide strategic direction to support the attraction, retention, and motivation of teammates by ensuring compensation is aligned with the company’s business and culture goals.

What you’ll do

  • Lead Evolve’s approach to Compensation, by designing and overseeing the delivery of our compensation (cash and equity) programs, including our philosophy and structure and delivery
  • Partner with executive leaders and the people team to develop appropriate compensation strategies, policies, programs, and communications
  • Effectively communicate our compensation programs to ensure our team understands how decisions are made and feel fairly recognized and rewarded for the work they do
  • Lead the compensation strategy to align market competitiveness, plan design, and new trends to give Evolve a cutting edge regarding talent attraction and engagement
  • Conduct regular benchmarking and analysis of compensation practices to ensure competitiveness in the market. Stay informed about industry trends, legislative changes, and best practices related to compensation.
  • Work effectively to balance the science of compensation design principles with the art of compensation practices which align to drive a business strategy
  • Ensure compliance across all plans with applicable Federal, State and local regulations governing compensation practices
  • Collaborate and provide counsel to leaders and the people team regarding compensation solutions and insights
  • Lead merit process with leaders across the organization; preparing managers for planning and providing budget information
  • Partner with leaders, finance, and People Business Partners (PBPs) to create variable compensation programs that support attracting and retaining the best talent
  • Partner with finance and legal to plan and administer Evolve’s equity program
  • Lead our compensation team

What makes you a great fit 

  • 10+ years of broad-based compensation program design, implementation, and ongoing administration with the ability and desire to both lead and execute
  • 5+ years of people leadership
  • Demonstrated experience with compensation principles and concepts, compensation analysis and consulting, including market pricing, comp plan structure/design, job evaluation, and grading
  • A demonstrated track record of successfully building and/or revamping existing compensation structures to suit the changing needs of an organization
  • A business-minded people leader and functional compensation expert who can thrive in a culture that is results-oriented, fast paced and hospitality focused
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on strong partnership ability, consistent and timely follow-up and follow-through with business stakeholders
  • A bias for action and pragmatic, yet creative, innovative solutions that prove you to be a valuable business partner
  • An unparalleled sense of urgency and commitment to getting stuff done without sacrificing quality or experience
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and can manage multiple competing priorities while continuing to advance critical initiatives
  • Self-assured and have a high tolerance for ambiguity and shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • An ability to gain trust through effective communication and doing what you say you will do
  • A reputation for discretion, integrity, judgment, responsiveness, strong attention to detail and common sense

Location 

We currently are able to hire throughout the U.S. except in the following states: District of Columbia, Hawaii, and Pennsylvania. There are also certain positions that may have hiring impacts in the following states: California, Maryland, New York, Rhode Island, and Washington. If you live in Colorado, you can work remotely anywhere in the state, at our downtown Denver office, or a hybrid of both!

Compensation

Annual base salary range: $160,000 - $184,000, depending on relevant experience.  This role will also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on both company and individual performance.
