The YouVersion Director of Church Generosity is primarily responsible for building and strengthening relationships with churches that financially support the mission of YouVersion. This role will focus on serving pastors, churches, and the broader local church community, ensuring that their contributions are stewarded effectively to further the mission of YouVersion and Life.Church. The Director of Church Generosity will collaborate with their team leader to cast vision, provide direction, and lead ministry efforts that help reach people for Christ.

YouVersion was created by the local church in 2007 and remains a ministry of Life.Church today. At Life.Church, our mission is to lead people to become fully devoted followers of Christ. What You’ll Do

  • Develop and implement plans to strengthen relationships with churches, inviting them to financially support YouVersion’s mission.
  • Create customized proposals and messaging that align with each church’s unique community, strengths, and vision.
  • Oversee churches’ onboarding and ongoing engagement within the YouVersion community, cultivating a strong sense of connection and purpose.
  • Keep churches informed of the impact of their generosity through compelling stories, data, and celebratory updates.
  • Facilitate gatherings of church leaders to build community and contribute to the growth and effectiveness of their ministry.
  • Provide churches with the tools and resources needed to effectively share their involvement with their congregations, including talking points, visual assets, and key milestones.
  • Plan and execute strategies for ongoing gratitude, recognition, and collaborative efforts with church partners.
  • Gather and share powerful stories of impact from churches and their communities to inspire others and report on progress.
  • Participate in events, meetings, and initiatives that support the wider YouVersion team, including occasional travel and hosting responsibilities.

Skills Needed to Succeed

  • Proficient in networking, collaboration, and relationship management within the church community.
  • Entrepreneurial and driven, with a mindset that sees potential in every opportunity and does due diligence to steward every relationship, meeting, event, and story.
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to make independent decisions and solve problems with innovation.
  • Highly effective at multi-tasking and time management to meet strict deadlines while remaining flexible and open to change.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to foster church relationships and inspire action.
  • Effective at process and organizational management to coordinate, structure, and provide vision to projects.
  • Strong leadership skills and understanding of developing and guiding others.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of related work experience serving and developing relationships with churches.
