About You:
Versana is seeking a seasoned and highly motivated Director of Business Development to support our strategic growth objectives. You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new business opportunities, namely strategic partnerships with many of the service providers in the syndicated loan and private credit markets.  You will work closely with Versana’s senior management team to cultivate and grow such relationships needed to execute on various business plans and revenue generating opportunities.  Reporting to the COO, you will be shaping the future of our business by spearheading our market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute on our mission to transform the syndicated loan and private credit markets by collaborating with new and established players within the loan market ecosystem
  • Identify, analyze, structure and present build vs. buy vs. partner growth opportunities using comprehensive due diligence and expert driven market research
  • Drive Product growth by focusing on short- and long-term business objectives, scalability and product optimization to enable the successful execution of our product roadmap
  • Drive Sales growth by planning and executing new go-to-market strategies with third party providers as well as develop appropriate commercial models for various product offerings
  • Establish and prioritize a robust partnership pipeline focused on potential revenue share opportunities
  • Be a cross-functional leader, working closely with our Head of Sales and Head of Product to drive high-impact results across our many market constituents and stakeholders
  • Work closely with legal on validating our strategic direction, understanding potential risks and creating documentation to close transactions
  • Provide executive management with weekly progress updates
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Technology, Sales, Marketing and Client Service, as needed

Must Haves:

  • Strong knowledge of the current state of the syndicated loan market and deep understanding of its competitive landscape to best position the Company for success
  • Bachelor’s degree in a business or sales related field
  • 10-15 years of experience in growing complex, high-value loan industry relationships
  • A business-oriented, data-driven, and innovative mindset
  • Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work on several projects concurrently in a high-paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to receive feedback, understand client pain points, and drive solutions
  • Proven ability to drive business decisions, while managing multiple projects effectively
  • Proven ability to work with C-level executives, as well as Product, Sales and Marketing teams
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and ability to partner with internal teams
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
