System1 is hiring a Director of Business Development to grow our partnerships within the Search & Distribution space. The search distribution team operates a network of partners that utilize search feeds from System1’s search engine partners to power and monetize search experiences across partner owned websites and downloadable applications. The team has aggressive growth targets and is in search of a well-connected, knowledgeable individual with industry experience who can contribute to our partnership strategy and help us hit our gross margin goals.

The Role You Will Have:

  • Identify potential search distribution partners and assess their suitability for collaboration; build pipeline
  • Own the full sales cycle from first contact to contract signing
  • Negotiate and close deals with search distribution partners to expand the network
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential partners
  • Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics
  • Manage new deal handoff to partner management team and maintain advisory role for signed accounts
  • Collaborate with team on overall search distribution partnership strategy 
  • Work cross functionally with legal, product and other teams as required 

What You Will Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA may be preferred
  • At least 5 years experience in business development, sales, or partnerships, with a focus on digital and search distribution (preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience in closing deals and achieving business growth targets.
  • Strong understanding of search engine technologies, search distribution models, and monetization strategies.
  • Industry connections and a network of contacts that can be leveraged for partnership opportunities.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $148,700 - $223,100 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in U.S. role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits.

System1’s headquarters is located in Marina del Rey, CA with additional offices in Bellevue, WA and Guelph, ON, Canada. Employees near office locations are returning to the office. Location-specific policies and available accommodations will be discussed during the interview process.
