The Director of Account Management is the key leader contributing to the strategic vision of the Account Management team that drives the success and growth of brands that work with Spreetail to enhance and exceed expectations in a fulfillment services setting. The Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and performance of the Account Managers, as well as executing existing strategies and contributing to long-term planning, processes, and systems that will establish the newly formed Platform Services (Fulfillment) division as a market leader and a trusted partner for brands of all sizes and categories. The Director will also directly manage the relationships and contracts with strategic accounts that have high potential and complexity, and ensure that Spreetail delivers on its promise of providing best-in-class fulfillment services across multiple marketplace platforms.
How you will achieve success:
- Build and lead a high-performing team of Account Managers that can effectively manage and grow the portfolio of brands that use Spreetail's fulfillment services. Provide coaching, feedback, and development opportunities for the team members, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Contribute in the development and execution of the vision and strategy for the Platform Services (Fulfillment) division, in alignment with Spreetail's overall mission and objectives. Identify the market opportunities, competitive advantages, and value propositions that will differentiate Spreetail from other 3PL providers and attract new brands to partner with us.
- Help the brands that use Spreetail's fulfillment services grow their sales and profitability by using all the levers that Spreetail offers. This includes fulfillment operations, marketplace integration, technology platform, marketing and merchandising support (where relevant), and customer service excellence. Coach and guide the brands on how to optimize their product assortment, pricing, inventory management, and promotions to boost their market share.
- Find and implement ways to reduce the costs and inefficiencies in the brand's supply chain and logistics, and improve their margins and cash flow. This ranges from utilizing Spreetail’s Reverse Logistics capabilities, to improving IB planning of inventory.
- Establish and optimize the processes and systems that will enable the Account Management team to deliver on the operational and financial goals of the division. This includes pricing strategies, service level agreements, performance metrics, reporting tools, and communication protocols that will ensure efficiency, transparency, and accountability for both Spreetail and the brands.
- Directly manage the relationships and contracts with strategic accounts that have high GMV, complexity, and growth potential. Understand their business needs and goals, and provide them with customized solutions and support that will help them achieve success with Spreetail's fulfillment services. Negotiate and renew contracts (as needed), resolve issues, and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including the Platform Services leadership team, the Fulfillment Operations team, the Marketplace team, the Technology team, and the brand representatives and leaders. Communicate effectively and proactively, and collaborate on cross-functional projects and initiatives that will enhance the brand experience and the fulfillment services offering.
- Monitor and analyze the performance and health of the Platform Services (Fulfillment) division, the Account Management team, and the individual brands. Provide regular and actionable insights and recommendations that will drive continuous improvement and growth. Report on the progress and results to the Platform Services leadership team and the senior management of Spreetail.
What experiences will help you in this role:
- Bilingual proficiency in Mandarin and English, with strong communication and translation skills and an a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Project Management or Client Services.
- At least 8+ years of experience in 3PL supply chain account management or e-commerce logistics operations in 3PL, supply chain, account management, or e-commerce operations.
- At least 5+ years of experience in managing and leading teams.
- Proven track record of managing and growing 3PL clients with net sales exceeding $50 million annually.
- Experience in e-commerce logistics is required, with a preference for direct experience working with Amazon Seller Fulfilled Prime (SFP) and other related marketplaces.
- Proven ability to consistently and positively contribute in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels, from entry-level support roles to C-level executives, both internally and externally.
- Ability to work independently and manage personal and team time, keeping deliverables and deadlines top of mind.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
- Strong writing, phone and presentation skills.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
