Director, National Product Specialists - Data Solutions

The Director, Product Specialists – Data Solutions is responsible for the leadership of the Product Specialist team selling the bioMerieux Vision Suite, EpiSeq, and other bioMerieux Data & IT Solutions. The Director is responsible for all US sales and revenue for the Clinical Data & IT portfolio. This individual will manage, develop and direct a group of Product Specialists responsible for owning the forecast, pipeline, and technical sale cycles of the Data & IT Solutions product range. The individual in this role will implement strategy, tactics and processes by which the Product Specialist team will achieve company goals by delivering increased placements, revenues, and targeted profitability margin while working collaboratively and cross-functionally as a team with US ClinOps to ensure a world-class business experience for our customers.

 

Primary Duties

  1. Achievement of all US revenue and profitability objectives that pertain to the Vision Suite product line.Develop, implement and manage strategic business plan to exceed all goals related to revenue and profitability of the Vision Suite product line
  2. Achievement of operational objectives: Effectively leads team of Product Specialists by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, and mentoring direct reports; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing all corporate policies and procedures; establishing fluid teamwork relationship with cross functional teams
  3. Delivers and manages both short term and long term strategic plans unique to the Product Specialist team
  4. Collaborates with internal teams and Sr. Director – Product Specialists to create sales objectives and forecasts while driving business to achieve and exceed targets
  5. Manages sales and forecasts through CRM on a daily basis and can effectively communicate details on sales goals, trends and competitive market data both to the Sr. Director – Product Specialists and to other internal stakeholders
  6. Collaborates with L&D team to create and execute ongoing training and education for US Product Specialist team that act as subject matter experts (SME’s) for the Data and IT portfolio of products
  7. Delivers business reviews covering the Vision Suite portfolio and develops strategic plan to exceed goals and mitigate any business risks
  8. Demonstrates proficient understanding of sales accountability metrics and can effectively coach the sales team on Sales Call Management, Opportunity Management, Pipeline Management and Forecast Accuracy
  9. Provides performance reviews and developmental plan for each direct report to include written annual goals with quarterly reviews
  10. Implement and monitor Professional Developmental Plans for all assigned team members
  11. Proactively manage and proliferate the collaboration with all internal support functions (commercial and non-commercial)
  12. Develop, monitor, and manage the overall team’s performance as per the corporate performance management process
  13. Focus on delivering world class customer experience with bioMérieux in alignment with the US ClinOps Sales organization’s annual goals and objectives
  14. Perform other duties as assigned

 

Training & Education

  • Minimum of 4-year Bachelor degree required
  • Advanced degree in business management preferred
  • Proficient software training and utilization in Salesforce.com, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Tableau and PowerPoint software programs

 

Experience

  1. Minimum 5-years professional experience, with increasing scope of responsibility
  2. Field based sales team management/leadership experience required
  3. Proven and documented track record in exceeding territory Capital and Reagent goals
  4. Proven and documented track record of consistent top finishes within sales team
  5. Experience selling Capital equipment required
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  7. Experience with new product launches preferable

  8. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from customers and/or internal personnel and requiring coordination with other departments.
  9. Knowledge of in-vitro diagnostics clinical pathways
  10. Experience and expertise with presenting in-vitro diagnostic technical and clinical information to diverse audiences in an on-label compliant manner
  11. Knowledge and practical experience in professional personnel development

 

Domestic Travel 70% Required
