Director, Marketing - Reese's Book Club

Hello Sunshine is looking for a highly motivated Director of Marketing for Reese’s Book Club. Working closely with the SVP, this role is responsible for leading Reese’s Book Club’s consumer-facing marketing and brand strategy initiatives to attract, retain and drive consumer engagement opportunities and strategic initiatives for the business. The position requires a candidate with significant experience within the book publishing landscape and direct multi-channel strategic marketing campaigns across social, email, community,  website, PR, and IRL events. 

This position will play a central role in growing awareness, driving engagement, and fostering loyalty and love for The Reese’s Book Club brand. This includes developing and maintaining an annual campaign calendar and working with cross-functional teams to execute on the strategy. The role will also directly liaison with author’s and talent, and lead our community programming and discussions. 

Leadership experience and the ability to tap into both creative and analytics is essential. With clear KPI’s and opportunities to scale, the director will have a visible and meaningful impact on the business and have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of platforms, and projects. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Shape our overarching brand marketing and creative strategy across Reese’s Book Club’s channels.
  • Organize and oversee the brand marketing, sponsorship, and digital content, including content capture shoots
  • Lead the creation and execution of annual marketing calendar including campaigns, product launches, and promotions 
  • Build and maintains deep understanding of customer journey, ensuring we have seamless experiences across all verticals
  • Develop and support the Hello Sunshine book to film content on web, email,community, commerce.
  • Support internal agency (Solar)  by executing on key marketing deliverables for brand partnership clients. 
  • Oversee our website editorial strategies and overall content. 
  • Develop the editorial calendar for Reese’s Book Club email newsletter,  ensuring that align with editorial and sales initiatives.
  • Outline, test,  and improve the weekly email newsletter and manage freelance writer.
  • Leads communication and alignment across internal departments including social, growth marketing and operations. 
  • Own all marketing KPI's; track and report on marketing led initiatives.
  • Stay current on market trends and competitive activity
  • Manage external creative and media agencies as needed

Requirements

  • You have 7+ years of marketing and strategy experience; preferably from a book publisher or a talent led brand. 
  • You are a book lover above all else,  and have the desire and ability to read each of the Reese’s book picks to ensure marketing success.
  • You are extremely self-motivated and performance driven- you thrive on seeing the impact of your work and know how to use data to quantify its success, identify areas for improvement, and tell a story to various stakeholders across the organization
  • You have incredibly strong writing skills and proven experience writing in a consistent tone of voice for a brand
  • You have the ability to build relationships and work with a variety of co-workers across multiple teams and disciplines
  • You have excellent communication and presentation skills that can be adapted for audiences at all levels across the organization
  • You are a team player with a positive attitude- you’ll be working daily with a passionate and fun team and you thrive in a collaborative setting
  • You pride yourself on being an expert on modern marketing tools and platforms
  • You are superuser of email and social platforms like TikTok, Instagram, You Tube Short, etc., and have practical experience on how content is distributed & consumed on those platforms
