ABOUT THIS POSTION

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days in office) in Arlington, VA

Position Overview: We are seeking a strategic and experienced Director of Finance Transformation to lead and support our transformation initiatives and future finance process excellence. This role will be pivotal in driving the integration and optimization of our financial process, performance, and systems with a strong focus scalability for hyper growth.  This role has program and project management responsibilities across IT and Finance. Additionally responsible for leading audit activities within the functional pillar.
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities
 
Process Improvement:
·       Analyze existing financial processes and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency gains.
·       Implement best practices and standardized procedures to enhance financial reporting and compliance.
Leadership & Strategy:
·       Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for Finance transformation for SAP and other systems, aligning with organizational goals.
·       Lead and mentor a team of IT and Finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Project Management:
·       Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of Finance transformation projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
·       Manage stakeholder communication and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
System Integration & Optimization:
·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current financial systems and identify areas for improvement.
·       Ensure seamless integration of SAP Finance with other enterprise systems
Training & Support:
·       Develop and deliver training programs for finance staff on new systems and processes.
·       Establish a support framework for ongoing maintenance and troubleshooting of Finance systems.
Data Governance:
·       Ensure data integrity and compliance with regulatory requirements across all financial systems.
·       Implement robust data governance practices to support accurate reporting and decision-making.
·       Working with external audit team, ensuring compliance.

What does the ideal candidate bring to Fluence?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT leadership roles, with a focus on SAP Finance or similar ERP systems.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale IT transformation projects, preferably in finance.
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • You enjoy working in a high growth environment and evolving commercial business models.
  • You contribute to building a sustainable business of global scale.

  • Preferred Skills:
  •  SAP Certification (e.g., SAP S/4HANA).
  •  Experience with data analytics and financial reporting tools.
  •   Familiarity with Agile project management methodologies.
