This position of Director IT Business Partner – Finance & Legal is for an experienced information technology (IT) director to lead our team of software engineers and other technology staff who support both legacy system maintenance, new application development, data architecture, and quality assurance.  Extreme Network’s strategic direction is to modernize our core systems on the current market leading platforms (e.g. Oracle) leveraging its social, mobile, and integration capabilities.  Must have a strong background in technology, system integration, data architecture, application development, and agile software development methodologies.  
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in successfully leading a diverse technical team, and strong leadership skills. Additionally, the candidate should have the ability to build and cultivate relationships with stakeholders across various areas of the business to drive efficiency & effectiveness. This role is expected to integrate strategy, technology, and initiatives to support the growth and transformation of Extreme Networks.
 
Position reports to Vice President, IT Enterprise Applications.  
Location: Raleigh-Durham area but can be flexible.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Establish strong, positive relationships with Extreme Networks internal business stakeholders in Finance and Legal to ensure the overall finance and legal process operates effectively and cohesively.
  • Must have an ability to map business processes to technology solutions. 
  • Must be detail oriented, a strong communicator with great interpersonal skills, and ability to motivate the team to deliver multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. 
  • Must have a strong technology background with the ability to execute a strategic vision, coupled with the ability to explore and recommend new technology and development approaches. 
  • Responsible for the finance and legal system portfolio and plots roadmap deliverables using a blend of business priority, end-to-end product strategy, and a holistic consideration of the application landscape.
  • Operates as the main point of contact to both the business (finance and legal teams) and the IT delivery teams for overall Finance & Legal business system roadmaps ensuring the focus is on business scalability while limiting IT risk.
  • Direct the IT delivery team in support of multiple system enhancements, modernization, system integration, and new application development projects.  Management duties include: 
  • Mentoring/coaching/managing individual team members. 
  • Establishing the appropriate management structure for the department 
  • Goal setting and performance reviews
  • Aligning team objectives with Extreme Networks mission/vision/values 
  • Leading by example, hands-on approach. 
  • Vendor management
