We are looking for a Director, Global Functional Talent Development Partner to lead the strategic relationship with LinkedIn’s Global Business Organization globally, providing internal client consultation, assessment of people and organizational learning needs while evaluating, creating, and implementing talent development strategies to meet LinkedIn’s growth. Strong partnership with HR VPs, Regional Talent Development Partners and Talent Development COEs ensures that interventions and learning activation all come together seamlessly to achieve business goals and advancing skill development and organizational health in alignment with the functional business strategy.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in L&D, Business HR Consulting and Organizational Development and will have experience in developing and implementing strategic talent development strategies for a large, complex global technology organization. The individual should have experience leading complex organization transformation work, across stakeholder matrix; and should have demonstrated success in introducing and implementing scalable programs to meet priority learning and talent development needs across a fast-paced global organization.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain deep understanding of the Global Business Org’s businesses and competitive landscape.
Build trusted partnerships with GBO leadership, the HR team and senior stakeholders.
Partner closely with the HR leadership of the GBO orgs, assess the function’s global development needs and create a strategic talent development strategy for the function (including business impact and measures of success of the talent development priorities and projects).
Partner with functional learning teams to integrate sales skill building needs into the functional talent development strategy for an end-to-end holistic learning strategy.
Partner and align with the Regional Talent Development Partners on quarterly business reviews of the functional talent development strategy with key HR and business stakeholders as well as with the Centers of Excellence.
Lead a small team of Talent Development Partners based in NAMER; in partnership with Regional Talent Development Partners, oversee the global activation of the functional talent development strategy.
Collaborate closely with Regional Talent Development Partners to ensure regional needs are represented in the functional talent development strategy and to ensure regional activation of the talent development strategy.
Partner closely with the Centers of Excellence (Manager and Executive Development, Performance Management, and others) to ensure functional development needs inform the design of our enterprise-level development programs and performance management approaches.
Bring business knowledge and insights to help the Centre’s of Excellence design user-centered products and services aligned to support LinkedIn’s business growth.
Key skills required as a platform for success within this role include:
Consulting and Advisory Skills: Provide expert guidance, insights, and recommendations to business and HR leaders on talent development related matters. This includes diagnosing talent challenges, proposing solutions, and assisting with the implementation of talent development initiatives.
Business Acumen: Solid understanding of the organization's industry, market dynamics, and business strategy. This knowledge allows them to align talent initiatives with the organization's needs and contribute to its overall success.
Analytical Skills: The ability to identify trends, patterns, and insights to make data-driven decisions and recommendations.
Relationship Building and Influencing: Collaborate with business leaders, HR teams, and employees at all levels. Effective communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to influence and persuade others are necessary to gain buy-in and support for talent development initiatives. Comfortable navigating in matrix and ambiguous environments led by LinkedIn’s culture and values.
Organizational Development & Systemic Thinker: Experience and understanding in a systemic approach to addressing the talent and learning and development needs of an organization. Partnering across functions on systemic approaches to address organizational development needs. Experiences and skilled to work with senior leadership and executives on leadership team effectiveness and organizational effectiveness.
Change Management: Solid understanding of change management principles and the ability to guide and support employees and leaders through change. This includes communicating the benefits of change, addressing resistance, and facilitating smooth transitions.
Cultural Competence and Diversity Awareness: Cultural competence and diversity awareness. Understand the value of diversity, possess knowledge of inclusive practices, and be able to foster an inclusive culture within the organization.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in HR, L&D, Organizational Development, Talent Management or a related field. Or equivalent practical experience.
12+ years work experience including a minimum of 7 years of experience in L&D, Business HR Consulting or Organizational Development.
5+ years experience managing people
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in HR, L&D, Organizational Development, Talent Management or a related field. Or equivalent practical experience.
Experience influencing and advising senior sales leaders, delivering outcomes in a client facing or consulting role.
Experience in developing and implementing strategic talent development strategies for a large, complex organization with measurable outcomes.
Experience leading complex organization transformation work, across stakeholder matrix.
High degree of executive presence, including responsiveness, business focus, integrity, sound judgement, and ability to prioritize effectively across competing demands.
Knowledge of industry best practices and trends around learning science, talent strategy and effective measurement of leadership and talent development.

LinkedIn is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $165,000 to $268,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
