Role Overview:
As Director of Global Supply Chain Management (GSM), you will assume a leadership position responsible for developing and executing the sourcing and supplier strategy and overseeing the commercial execution and supply chain management for the development and production of next-generation sensing and perception systems in a publicly listed, high growth technology company. This includes overseeing both sourcing and materials supply chain management for all commodities. You will play a key role in strategic deals and contract negotiations with suppliers, particularly for high-volume automotive and industrial electronics applications. Additionally, you will work closely with automotive suppliers and manage automotive launch processes, including PPAP and others. You will lead CM materials execution in support of volume production for both CM-managed and consigned materials including shortage management, lead-time, MOQ, inventory, and buffer strategies.
What you'll be doing:
- Develop and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies to ensure suppliers can meet the technical and business requirements.
- Lead commercial discussions and negotiate strategic deal terms, including intellectual property (IP) rights.
- Oversee and manage relationships with contract manufacturers for high-volume electronics products.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to influence decisions and align technical specifications through RFIs, ERS, SOWs, and other relevant documents.
- Conduct cost structures cost engineering exercise and should-cost analysis to optimize sourcing decisions.
- Utilize your executive network to establish strong relationships with electrical component suppliers.
- Negotiate complex IP and supply agreements with global suppliers.
- Lead day-to-day execution of materials with CM partners.
What you'll have:
- In-depth technical knowledge of commodity management for semiconductors, optics, electronics, and electrical components.
- Demonstrated experience working cross-functionally to drive alignment on technical specifications and documents.
- Proven expertise in cost structures and should-cost analysis.
- Demonstrated experience driving materials procurement, CM delivery, and inventory management.
- Extensive experience in negotiating complex IP and supply agreements with global suppliers.
- Familiarity with automotive supplier qualification processes, including PPAP and other launch procedures.
- Strong interest in technology and operations, with a thirst for knowledge and ability to learn quickly.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an Engineering-related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in commodity and materials management.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% based on business needs.
