Director, Global People Relations -
Remote - North America based

As Guidewire’s Global People Relations Director, you’ll be building a brand new function that is a key player in supporting the build and execution of our people team, learning & development strategy, and our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion(DEI) efforts during a dynamic and high growth phase. You’ll leverage your extraordinary skills in employee relations, communication, influence, building trust, and execution in building thoughtful experiences for Guidewire within the People Org, and influence across the company.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our North America hubs.
What you get to do:
- Build a team and lead the People Relations function, centering strong performance success at its core
- Iterate on all People Relations processes to deepen the skill sets of investigation, mediation, case management, performance improvement, justice, and conflict resolution
- Design systems of dashboard and reporting to provide data insights across all bodies of work across the People Relations team.
- Design and manage the global restructuring process, systems and alignment with the global legal team, accounting and the People Business Partner team. Manage the process with the team aligned to local requirements globally.
- Define how we address performance concerns and exits as well as organizational changes, while deepening understanding of employee needs and iterating off our performance success philosophy, processes and technology
- Partner with DEI, L&D, People Partners and Legal to build equitable processes that not only scrub out biases but deepen the understanding across the company in how biases can be named and addressed to ensure they do not impact decisions or employee opportunity
- Drive accountability, in partnership with the People Business Partners and DEI team, on organizational health issues and specific employee workplace conflicts and concerns, including conflicts with managers and organizations that have gaps in belonging and trust
- Partner closely with DEI, Talent Rewards, People Ops, People Business Partners & Legal team to bring an employee experience lens to the services and processes we deliver
- Act globally, setting governance and oversight of Employee Relations policies and practices, through the perspective of employment laws, and other regulations to provide guidance or clarification inclusive of the nuances that may vary by country
- Develop the protocols and metrics to measure and define success, and report on it regularly to senior leadership
- Build process, systems and training for People Relations team and partner teams that align into the People Relations enablement stream.
- Provide insights and oversite to regional political and organizational policies that impact Guidewire locally and globally.
- Act as the conduit for input from the local executives back into the People team.
- Create communications channels across EMEA leadership and into the leaders of the functional People Partners for awareness and action as needed.
- Align with local company wide initiatives with the EMEA lens for all ee’s. Ie. Survey data from a regional perspective
Experience required:
- Aligned experience building and leading Employee Relations, HR Risk Management or a related function
- 5+ years of experience hiring, managing and leading teams through transformational changes.
- Leadership behaviors that align to our company culture that build and grow teams and partners.
- Proven track record of creating innovative processes, that uniquely match the stage of growth of the organization but also grow as it scales and drives consistency, speed, and efficiency
- Experience building and using data sets to look for and anticipate trends within employee relations that influence thinking and upstream practices to ensure the best employee development experience
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively, lead and influence at all levels within the organization, and make decisions while keeping all partners and leaders informed
- Set the standards for case management, documentation, coaching, facilitation, conflict resolution, and consulting skills
- Experience partnering with DEI teams with in depth understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion issues and how they apply to employee relations
- Experience partnering with legal teams and in-depth understanding of all aspects of US employment laws, regulations, policies, principles, concepts and practices, including ADA, ADEA and FMLA.
- Knowledge of and experience with international labor practices in countries where we do business
- Ability to travel on a quarterly basis

- Comfort with Google suite of tools, Guidewire products, and Workday
