Job Overview:

As an integral part of Coupang’s Global Mobility (GM) team, the Director of Global Mobility will lead the day-to-day operations and support key projects within the growing GM program in Taiwan and our Other Markets. This hands-on role will drive operational excellence and process improvements, including leveraging technology to efficiently scale our in-house program in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. The GM Director should embody our leadership principles and ensure exceptional employee experiences.

The ideal candidate thrives in a high energy, fast-moving environment, regularly ‘Wows the Customer’, is able to effectively manage multiple priorities and stakeholders, and drives continuous improvements to the program. They should also be experienced in delivering new, innovative programs and processes which align with Coupang’s culture and expectations.

This role will be based in Taipei, Taiwan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Global Mobility operations leader for expats and their dependents, assignees, commuters, business travelers, remote workers, management of VIP cases, and escalation point for issues in Taiwan and Other Markets
  • Build and be accountable for the metrics of success for the Global Mobility program in Taiwan and Other Markets
  • Build strong partnerships with Coupang’s vendors to act as an extension of the team, and hold vendors accountable to deliver on their SLAs, goals, and objectives.
  • Support the setting up of Coupang’s Global Mobility program in new countries
  • Lead Global Mobility team projects including process improvements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other teams on projects and process improvements
  • Create and manage Global Mobility content for our Coupang hub, Wiki, or other relevant internal communications
  • Responsible for performance management, career development, and ongoing training for Global Mobility team members in Taiwan and in Other Markets
  • Provides regular data reports to enable the function's leaders or stakeholders to make informed decisions
  • Support benchmarking, design and implementation of Coupang’s Global Mobility policies

The Ideal Candidate has:

  • 10+ years’ experience with progressively complex roles in the Global Mobility function. The majority of the work experience must include managing the Global Mobility program in APAC region, ideally with notable volume in Taiwan.
  • 2+ years’ experience of global or APAC people management experience
  • Proven experience in building and scaling GM programs, and is capable of delivering an exceptional program whilst simultaneously improving upon all operational excellence aspects.
  • Experience resolving urgent issues, with a strong sense of accountability and judgment
  • Balances compliance with Moving with Urgency.
  • Prioritizes effectively and manages multiple complex projects and tasks tracking key dates and deliverables
  • Exceptional customer service, emotional intelligence, cross-cultural conscientiousness and supportive of diverse communities
  • Strong written and verbal communication including use of tact and diplomacy. Business-level English language skills are mandatory; business-level Mandarin language skills is ideal.
  • The ability to analyze key performance drivers and develop impactful tactics and methodologies.
  • Ruthlessly identifies improvement areas and drives innovation
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
  • Takes initiative and works independently, in addition to collaborating as a team-player
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Workday, and confident in their ability to learn, navigate and leverage other systems and technologies
  • Experience working with confidential data and handling sensitive matters with discretion
  • Ability to build/improve on processes with a compliance mindset
  • Stays updated on Immigration and GM trends locally and globally.
