The Position

We are looking for a full time Director, Field Operations to join our team. This role will report to our Co-founder and CTO. This role will align operational strategies with overall business strategies to optimize manufacturing operations. This individual will bring a strong operational and logistical skillset to the team with the ability to collaborate closely with our operations, production and engineering departments. This role is based in Brooklyn, NY.

  • Work closely with engineering and operation teams to support existing production sites and operational growth as Air Company looks to expand operations U.S. wide and globally.
  • Lead the development and implementation of programs, policies and procedures to ensure all facilities and grounds are maintained in an operationally effective, clean and safe environment.
  • Provide thoughtful and strategic leadership to the business and direct team to facilitate cross functional problem solving to meet company goals. 
  • Oversee and mentor a diverse team of managers and operators and foster a culture of safety, collaboration, accountability, and employee development.
  • Create strong relationships with strategic suppliers and effective supply streams for traditional raw materials vendors. 
  • Negotiate competitive pricing and terms of these materials and manage vendors to acceptable performance metrics. 
  • Optimize time in transit and costs for the movement of goods from source to the destination.
  • Ensure all future sites are strategically located in areas that maximize logistical efficiencies for AIRMADE™ SAF to access commercial customers. This will include ensuring Air Company’s neat SAF product can access key blending facilities on route to final customer.
  • Maintain a people first culture where team members are enabled to take accountability and collaborate cross-functionally 

What you bring to AIR COMPANY

  • Bachelor's degree required in an engineering, operations, or manufacturing-adjacent, advanced degree, MBA or similar preferred.
  • 15+ years experience in chemical or manufacturing plant operations, maintenance, renovation and related activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the management of building systems in an industrial environment and possess knowledge of advanced building engineering principles as they relate to the chemical, oil & gas environment.
  • Motivated to build, mentor, and develop a team and have 10+ years experience managing direct report(s).
  • Demonstrated experience developing operational standards, policies and practices which contribute to organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and relationship building skills at all levels in an organization.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations as it relates to plant operations within NJ/NY.
  • High flexibility with the ability to adapt and grow in a startup environment– patience and diplomacy skills are critical to success.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit that is flexible, experimental and resourceful.

Salary Range: $200,000 - $235,000 

The approximate annual base compensation range and benefits listed above may vary based on the applicant's experience, skills, abilities, and relevant industry expertise.
