About the role:

Our Samsara Recruiting team has helped scale the company to over 3,000+ employees. Emerging Talent from university campuses, apprenticeship programs and other early-in-career talent funnels are a strategic source of innovation. We are looking for a recruiting leader to define and execute an emerging talent vision and strategy in partnership with senior business leaders that will scale with the needs of our customers. This individual will be responsible for building and leading the team, with a mission of massively scaling the function and bringing in the right talent at the right time. 

Specifically, this will include delivering innovative programs for campus recruiting, internships, inclusive recruiting, improving our recruiting infrastructure and operations at scale, and making Samsara’s brand become even stronger with the next generation of talent. We want someone who is strong at systems thinking, expanding our talent brand with early in career talent, and knows how to make us more efficient at scale. Hiring is at the core of what will drive Samsara’s future success.

You will operate as a member of our recruiting leadership team and report to our Head of Field Operations Recruiting.

In this role, you will: 

  • Work backwards from winning: Emerging Talent strategy requires leaders to understand what Samsara’s customers need 2+ years from now and build a proactive, agile talent strategy to get there. You will align with business partners on talent needs for the long term and ruthlessly prioritize for what matters most. 
  • Build for the long term: Establish systems, process and an org design that improves hiring quality, process efficiency and team productivity as the team and hiring demands scale.
  • Lead a high-performing recruiting team: Hire, develop, and lead a team of high performing managers, and individual contributors across full-cycle recruiting and emerging talent programs. 
  • Deliver results:  You will be accountable for consistently driving successful & tangible outcomes with your team and our cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Drive diversity initiatives for the company & execute on ambitious hiring goals: Execute on quarterly hiring goals with a focus on acquiring top diverse talent to meet our current and future hiring needs. Help the emerging talent funnel scale at pace across several countries during a phase of hypergrowth.
  • Influence without authority: Lead a matrix organization that requires the time, effort and vested interest from multiple departments with competing priorities.
  • Inspire operational excellence: Manage KPI achievement and tracking for team. Set up new processes that are able to scale within a fast growing business.
  • Act as a culture champion: Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles as we scale globally and across new offices.
  • Hire, develop and lead an inclusive, engaged, and high performing team.

Minimum requirements for the role:

  • 10+ years of experience in talent acquisition with experience in private and public companies (ideally during a period of hypergrowth).
  • 5+ years of people management experience; demonstrated ability to coach, empower, and develop talent.

An ideal candidate also has:

  • Ability to build credibility at all levels of the organization.
  • Passion for building a diverse team.
  • Proven track record in driving successful business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to design and communicate clear processes, and a detail-oriented yet flexible approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong point of view on how diversity and inclusion play a key role in a company’s success, track record of leading teams to achieve diversity recruiting goals, and proven success working with internal and external partners.
  • Strong bias for action and not afraid to “roll up your sleeves”.

Samsara’s Compensation Philosophy: Samsara’s compensation program is designed to deliver Total Direct Compensation (based on role, level, and geography) that is at or above market. We do this through our base salary + bonus/variable + restricted stock unit awards (RSUs) for eligible roles.  For eligible roles, a new hire RSU award may be awarded at the time of hire, and additional RSU refresh grants may be awarded annually. 

We pay for performance, and top performers in eligible roles may receive above-market equity refresh awards which allow employees to achieve higher market positioning.

The range of annual base salary for full-time employees for this position is below. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your city of residence, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
$133,560$238,500 USD
